It was a beautiful fall day. A brisk 50 degrees with bright sun so we jumped in Speedy Cracker and headed to a nearby winery.

We grabbed a bottle of wine. Yeah, I know it’s not the correct pairing for Lobster 🦞 but we like it!

Ordered up some Lobster goodness and enjoyed the day.

While it’s not as good as Bar Harbor Maine, this little truck was pretty tasty and hundreds of mile$ closer! 😂🤣

This winery is named ‘Grey Ghost’ after a famous Confederate Civil War Officer who operated in this area. He is considered part of the ‘family tree’ of American Special Operations Forces. He was famous for hit and run raids and successfully tying up much larger numbers of Union forces. He is buried in Warrenton Virginia a few miles away.

From the inter-webs:

“John Singleton Mosby (December 6, 1833 – May 30, 1916), also known by his nickname "Gray Ghost", was an American military officer who was a Confederate army cavalry battalion commander in the American Civil War. His command, the 43rd Battalion, Virginia Cavalry, known as Mosby's Rangers or Mosby's Raiders, was a partisan ranger unit noted for its lightning-quick raids and its ability to elude Union Army pursuers and disappear, blending in with local farmers and townsmen. The area of northern central Virginia in which Mosby operated with impunity became known as Mosby's Confederacy. After the war, Mosby became a Republican and worked as an attorney, supporting his former enemy's commander, U.S. President Ulysses S. Grant. He also served as the American consul to Hong Kong and in the U.S. Department of Justice.”

In a time when some people are melting statues and erasing history it’s cool to know the truth.

Nice. We get the Cousins food truck in my neighborhood every couple of months. Pretty damn good. My wife gets the lobster tots.
