Fuel filler diesel

I’ve had some issues fueling since I bought it. Seems I couldn’t go past the first click of the fuel handle at the station. I heard some crinkling in that tube. I found out why today. There was some thin plastic crap in that line completely clogged. I straightened it a little in this picture but I removed the whole thing. It just pulled right out. No issues anymore. Not sure why it was there, but I’m surprised I could get any fuel in it at all.

Strange. I think Dodge had a PS hose issue where the inner liner came apart inside the hose. I hope this filler hose isn't something like that.

check the hose occasionally, that inner liner is to keep the rubber outer from deteriorating and may introduce particles into your fuel.

I would take all of it to the dealer and request a replacement hose, maybe contact Jeep (doesn't) Cares 1st to see if they'll arrange a warranty exchange

Definitely not part of the hose. It literally just fell out almost. Took zero pressure for it to come out. Looks like what the hose maker used to form the hose. Not sure.

I stay as far away from the dealer as possible. The only time I would go there is for serious issues. That line is so easy to replace I would pay for it myself to stay away from the dealership. It fills perfect now.
