Depends where you are coming from if coming from Bakersfield just take the 178 up to Lake Isabella and the trail head will be on the left just after getting out of the canyon

Ranchero was closed, so we went down black gulch and into lake Isabella that way. (Fire road).
We then took a fire road from Bodfish to jawbone.
Btw BV caught fire today ! It's out now
