Flip kit questions.

Caught the Bug

These are old photos. Opinion on how they look as in being parallel. I have a synergy draglink installed in stock position. But I'm thinking about doing the flip kit. 3.5" lift and I have an adjustable trackbar.
I know the track bar centers the axle. But have heard of people having problems with the trackbar bracket and adjustable track bars and making them have more bump steer.

If possible, take some photos from the driver's side so both bars are shown. You can see the whole bar and add some lines on the computer like in this thread. http://wayalife.com/showthread.php?42462-Wrangler-JK-Steering

Also here's a pic of my string test. This is a simple way to really see how parallel they are. String from bolt to bolt on track bar and then string from pivot point to pivot point on drag link. Then see how parallel the two strings are.

A question about the dynatrac. Will the synergy trackbar mount work on the pro rock 44? Wasn't sure as the stock axles are 2.5 and pro rock is 3".

if you have the track bar bracket for a stock axle it will not work on the PR44 - you'll want to get the one made for the 3" axle and weld it on.

Guess you could grind the bracket to fit but you may not have the height needed for the track bar to keep it parallel

I figured. I'll just go wth the weld on dynatrac. Thanks man.

On a computer, you really need a pic so you can see all end points of both bars like these pics:

Like WJCO said, The parallel test is an invisible line between the end points, not the bar itself. Take a head-on photo, with no angle, and all four joints visible. Then get on your computer and draw two lines between the joints. That will tell you what is going on.

If the lines are off, the vehicle will shimmy over every bump. Even one inch off will have you constantly correcting just to stay on the road.

Are you having bump steer now? If not, I wouldn't mess with it. Truthfully, your angles are already pretty close to parallel. The flip will just make them less steep.

Here's where you're at now:

And here's approximately where you'd be with the flip:

I'd have to agree. Unless you're having handling issues or are trying to get rid of an adjustable track bar, I might leave well enough alone.

Thanks man. It's hard to tell. Driving on the road with little bumps, no. Driving to work on a dirt road that has pot holes and washboards, hard to tell. Idk if it's just the slack that the steering wheels have on JKs

Bump steer normally occurs when one wheel hits a dip in the road, usually the RF one. When the wheel hits the bump, your steering wheel will actually jerk and move the jeep in another direction suddenly. It's annoying and feels abnormal. What symptom are you having?

That's what I have then. It'll jerk and I'll have to correct it.

The flip COULD correct it by bringing the angles more parallel to the ground. You also could have a loose part somewhere.

I think I'll do the flip. I've torqued all the bolts. Trackbars have new heims. Those were worn out before. Thanks for the help guys.
