Feeling out your significant other about jeep mods.

Caught the Bug
So, just wondering if anybody is like me. I'll show my wife pics of accessories I would like to get to "feel her out". What I don't add is price or size of item. Just showed her a pic of a 2 dr with 37's. Asked her "hey hon, what do you think of those tires?" She looked at them and said "those are pretty cool"....SCORE! My problem is I must have this look on my face.....you know that glazed, need more stuff bad look that gives me away. Then she starts asking my additional questions. I tell her 37's sound big, but they really aren't. I tell her I have 32's and putting 37's on technically is only raising the Jeep 2.5". I think I'm winning this battle Just not the war. So anybody got any stories of slick sneaky ways you've gotten your mods? Love to hear them.:)

SWMBO is pretty cool with mods to the Jeep just as long as they do not break the bank. I have been working bigger tires now for about three months and when it comes time for new shoes the JK will get 35's. As for other MODs I shop around and give her the most expensive and then the cheapest. Also making the MODs her idea helps out a lot.

I'm working on tires as well. The one's I'm sporting are lasting longer than I want them too.:cheesy:
 
Sneaky ways I get mods? I don't have to.

I order them, and they show up at the door and she's like, "What did you order now?"

The thing that sucks about our relationship is she's wanting to mod her jeep as much as mine... :naw:

Pretty much how I do it except I usually sale something or trade something to get other stuff. Usually doesn't come out the account.
 
Just jump off a bridge. It's easier that way and more dignified.

I don't understand this problem you guys are talking about. When we couldn't find Commando Green she said, "we can cover it in tan bedliner when I am bored with white". Here she is installing fog lights and grill mesh last weekend when we swapped out bumpers. I think I have a winner.
 
Actually my wife is always offering to help me with my mods as well. Our schedules just conflict with each other.

I wish mine would help me. I try all the time just to spend time with her and talk but she cares nothing bout helping. But she sure as hell will jump in it and show off around town any chance she gets.
 
My wife is very understanding when it comes to mods. I explain the benefit to the point where it would be dumb of us not to get the mod. My pal "ramin" really helped me when he let us drive his rig with EVO DTD system on it. Within 2 minutes my wife said "we have to get this suspension"!!! SCORED!!! As soon as we got back to town I ordered the EVO DTD system.
So ... bottom line ... if you can't convince her yourself, have a buddy help you out to explain why you need it!

So, my wife and I went to drop her car off at the dealership. She followed me there and as we were driving home she said. It looks like you might be needing tires soon.....SCORE! So now I'm window shopping.
 
I've found used slabs and used pro steers on here so far and got shot down both times. Still working on her tho, just have to ask at the right time

There are definitely certain times of the month NOT to ask for anything and be very grateful for what you have.
