Discount Tire Pricing - Depends on where you are

I generally purchase tires at Discount. Spent $3400 for tires and wheels last July. Will most likely purchase next set of tires from Discount as well. With opinions expressed on this forum, I'm leaning towards the Nitto Trail Grapplers and intend to move up from 35s to 37s. I priced the 37" Nittos in Albuquerque on the Discount web site at $412 each. Because some of the tires I was researching (specifically the BFG KM2s like I currently run) are currently not available in 37s at the Albuquerque stores (per the web site), I looked at anther area (specifically LA metro) and was surprised to see that the identical Nitto tire 37X12.50-17 was selling for $338. I certainly didn't do a comprehensive search of all areas or tire types but did note even for 35" KM2s (that are available in Albuquerque) that there was a difference with the LA metro price ($333 versus $316 - not the magnitude seen with the Nittos). I've a mind (next time I go for tires) to invoke their price match policy with themselves (at other locations).

ordered some Method wheels that's weren't in stock, there special ordered and they weren't afraid of losing my order by giving a lot of BS, gonna be a few extra weeks, you wanna wait ? sure I learned some times you just got to wait for the good stuff:thumb:
 
Update to Discount Tire Price Match

You (anyone reading this) may recall that, on an earlier post on this thread, I reported a significant difference between the local (Discount Tire) price, $412, for 37X12.50R17 tires and the price at the LA Metro Store ($338) - all of this from the Discount Tire website. I don't know if this is an "official" corporate position but I just got off a live chat with a person at Discount Tire Direct and was told that if I develop a "shopping cart" on a website for one store (e.g., LA Metro - or another with perhaps an even lower price) and take it into my local store, the local store will "happily" match the price of the other store. This would yield a savings of $370 for 5 tires (not to mention the savings for a percentage sales tax - pretty small but still...)
 
DT quoted me $365 per tire for five in same size and brand you mention plus $40/ tire for replacement if damaged (Colorado). I ended up going with cooper stt pros with 13.5" for about $315/tire plus $40 for replacement. I have done biz with the same shop for 12 years and they are fantastic to work with and always price match.
