Yup that's old news and awesome. I would run them on a dd but probably not a trail rig as there is really no sidewall to help.

Actually, there are sets with Sidewalls (to keep stuff out of the inside of the wheel that would throw the balance off real bad), I'm sure they can add knobs to aid in sidewall traction...
