Caught the Bug
I am looking at the Cobra C 75 because of its compact size, does anybody have experience with these, quality, ease of install,range and what would be a good antenna to go with it?
 
I ran one for a couple years, installation is quick and easy. I think I used a cooltech mount, can't remember exactly. And a 4' firestick antenna. Range was decent, don't know exactly how far but was able to talk to everyone in our group when wheeling through some pretty dense areas. I would recommend an external speaker though
 
I also ran one of these, great unit but eventually switched to Midland 75-822 CB Radio. Only reason was I do some hiking and can take this as a portable unit.
 
I had the cobra 75 for a while and I liked it. Didn't need an external speaker or anything. Used the cooltech mount which located it right to the radio. Ended up getting rid of it cause i liked the look of a full size and that I could potentially get more range out of a full size. Ended up with the cobra 29 lx
 
Not to completely thread jack here, but what does everyone suggest as a good low budget CB? By low budget, I mean less than $50.

I run the Uniden 510XL that is 42.99 (according to Google) however, then the antenna and mount drive the price up. Maybe look at a good hand held if you only want it for the trail. They can range from 30 - 100 bucks (again, according to Google).
 
I think Walmart sells a Cobra 19 for 30 bucks. Remember they all have 4 watts, the more you pay only gets you more features not more range.

I've got a handheld already, but I'm wanting to upgrade. I've got the mount for above the rear view on the way, I'm getting a 4' firestik from a buddy, so other than antenna mount and cable, all I need is the CB itself. The Uniden 510xl is my current top choice, unless someone has a better suggestion at the same price or cheaper.

I've got this one. Taken it out twice and works just fine. Using it with a 3' Firestik Firefly on a Cooltech tailgate mount.

Ah I apologize i did not know you had a handheld. I personally like my 510 it fits nicely about the rear view and i can talk to people. Ive never owned another cb so i dont really performance reference.
