I've been to Butler quite a few times and never knew that. They don't advertise it either anywhere downtown or on the interstate. At least that I have seen

Butler was home to the American Bantam car Company which produced the original Jeep. Willys & Ford eventually took over production for a variety of reasons.

There's a page on Wikipedia dedicated to the company. Just search American Austin car Company. They have a Bantam Jeep festival every year there as well. Pretty big deal.

Funny, I was just past the The Andy warhol Museum here in Pittsburgh today and they have a WWII display going on. They have the oldest known bantam Jeep on display there. I am going to try to get to see it and post up some photos.

My wife's college graduation took place at the Warhol. I don't remember the graduation but I remember the sweet M38A1 jeep they had on display.. I have pictures of it somewhere !
