Currently installing a complete audio system into my wrangler (two Amps, sub, new speakers). I put the new HU in about 9 months ago. I had to reconnect the battery last night to lock up my car and I noticed the brake lights are constantly on (including the 3rd. The four ways override it and still blink (3rd once again stays on), but stepping on the brakes does nothing. I am still installing the speakers but everything should be done by tonight. Does anyone know what might be causing this?
The only thing I can think of is maybe since I haven't fully reattached the bracket holding the brake pedal switch listed in STEP 9 maybe that would cause it. Or maybe somehow one of the plugs from that switch came loose.
I just want to get some ideas because my car has been out of commission for the past two days for this job and i really want to have this brake light situation cleared up by tonight when I'm done with the speakers.
