Bestop mesh VS spiderweb mesh

I'm trying to decide which way to go. What product have you guys been using? And are you pleased with the product?

I'm.leaning toward the Bestop mesh because it slips into the door tracks and I think that is a nice part of this top.

What do you guys think?

as far as i know everyone (from those who post about it) runs the spiderweb or dirty dog (i think its dirty dog) shades.

I've heard good things about the Bestop but I've owned the Spiderweb Shade Ultra Mesh for three years. I couldn't be happier with it. Easy installation and I leave it on year round as it works with both hard and soft tops.

I'm sure you'll be happy either way.

Sunshades are actually really easy to make for about $50. Home Depot, Lowe's, or any similar big brand store sells rolls of screen. I used pet screen because it was really sturdy, but you can get any kind you want including UV screen. The rolls are about 48" or so wide, which is perfect for a JK. You will have to cut to length but it is easy to do. Buy a grommet kit, some grommets, and a bunch of ball bungies and you are set. If you know how to sew you can strengthen the edges with some webbing. Seriously, the whole project isn't very difficult and you can save a bunch of money for other mods.

That said, if I was going to buy one I would probably get a Dirty Dog.

What sharkey said. You can make it if you want but if you buy go with the dirty dog shade. I wish I got that instead of my spiderweb shade. Not that I'm unhappy with my spiderweb shade the dirty dog just fits better.

I just bought a bikini top from Pavement's End; I think it is from Bestop, it was $79 From Morris 4x4. And had to get a header; $49. I was going to go with the mesh but I want a little more protection from light rain. I like the spiderweb mesh, I was really close to getting it since it didn't require a header.

Ok Dirty D it is. Order has been placed. Need a good fitting product and living in San Diego I'm sure the light it lets in or blocks really isn't going be a problem.

You won't be disappointed. The DD shade is awesome and fits great. These are the only pics I have of it. Gaps are non existent. ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1369471783.150658.jpgImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1369471866.467675.jpg

I have the spiderwebshade and if you have a 2 door it really is not that much more expensive than making your own. And unless you are good at sewing, I would just pay the extra $20 or whatever it is to know that you get a quality product with a warranty

I have the 2 door long version in their trail mesh. this comes all the way around and covers the back seat as well. you can then add the sides to form a mesh cage if you like. I just got it this morning and I am pretty happy with it so far. Took 10 mintes to install the thing. I had to re adjust it slightly to make the logo centered, but that only took a couple minutes a well.

I have the DD as mentioned above and just installed the spidershade on my girlfriends JKU.

Have to admit I'm a little disappointed in the spidershade. Not that it's bad, but the fit isn't nearly as good as the DD.

Both should do the job, just depends if the few extra bucks are worth it to you to have a more custom fit.

Gearshade is the one I use and I've never had any complaints about it. Its got some really useful corner pockets with zippers. I'm thinking about selling it since I ended up buying a Trektop NX, which can be converted to a bikini top. If its a good offer, I'll let it go.
