Bad Customer Sevice with Tire Rack

Just had the bad customer service with Tire Rack. Called up informing them that I have size 32 tires( gave them the numbers straight off the tire). Asked them I want to upgrade to a Duratrac size 33” . I informed them I am not changing my rim. The person I spoke with really didn’t even look in up. Just said that there are no 33” tires that will fit your rims. I was like OK, are you sure? Could you double check. He just said NO. So just for giggles I ask how about size 35”. He said, OH yea, we have size 35” in Kevlar for $350.00 each. I said well I don’t need Kevlar right now, he just said sorry sir that’s all we have and pretty much hung up the phone. If I wasn’t at work and had the time. I would have called back and spoke to his boss.
 
i had a bad experience as well. when i ordered my 32" MT/r with kevlar 3 out of the 4 tired beads were ruined. called up customer service and they said it was from me mounting them wrong. the tires were not even mounted lol

edit - eventually got my money back but thet was after a week of arguing with them
 
Well the thing is I don't even want my tires with Kevlar. He just assumed I did. I thought that was funny. I know the tires I want come with and without Kevlar. And when I look online it shows the tires coming with and with out Kevlar. I just didn't have time during my lunch to argue with this guy.
 
I've bought tires from Tire Rack before. Their distribution center is here and I can go pick them up and not pay shipping. Yet, I still buy tires from Discount Tire. What does that tell you? :thumb:
 
I'm a new discount tire convert. I'm actually there right now getting my valve stem fixed.

Tire Rack will never get my money, Discount Tire is the bomb, best customer support ever and great prices. I have purchased 10 tires and 10 rims from them and will continue to support them.

I have to respectfully disagree with your statement. I am active duty military and have been stationed over seas for the last 14 years. I have always used Tire Rack because of the customer service and they have very quick shipping and service. Not only do they have quick shipping but they also have the cheapest shipping rates. I have an APO AE address and they are one of the only companies that will ship to the military members overseas. They also have military discounts, which is awesome.

I ordered my tires on a Monday and they were here in Germany by Friday. Almost everyone stationed overseas uses Tire Rack and I never heard any one complain.

Now as for you wanting Goodyear MTR's w/ Kevlar 33 inch tires, they only make them for a 15 inch or 20 inch rim. So unless you have a 15 or 20 inch rim the sales rep was correct. Here is the link to Goodyear and their tire size chart for the Goodyear MTR's with Kevlar = http://www.goodyear.com/en-US/tires/wrangler-mtr-kevlar. Also they may not carry them because there is not a high demand for that size tire for a 15 or 20 inch rim.

Here is the chart. This is just my two cents, but I will defend a company that has always treated me with utmost respect, oh one more thing about Tire Rack, they are the only company that will ship a tire larger than a 32 inch to an APO, US military overseas.

Tire Rack will always get my business at customer satisfaction.

Mmmmm......I think the OP said he wanted 33 inch Duratracs. If that's the case the Duratracs do come in a 33" tire. LT285/70R17 is a 33" if I'm not mistaken.

Also the MT/r come in that size as well.

But to the OP, Discount tire is on this forum, why not give them a shout. I'm sure they will help you. :yup:

Two sets of tires for two different vehicles through Discount Tire...I can't imagine going anywhere else.
 
Stand corrected on the chart I miss read the Kevlar part, but i still stand behind Tire Rack. It could just have been someone in a bad mood. Or the individual did not know a 285x70R was a 33x11.5 tire. I would have respectfully asked for a different person. I never base a company on one individual sales person.
 
I agree that you can't totally judge a company after one order (I know I bashed them as well). I go where the prices are mainly but if I have really good experiences with one company even if they are a little more then someone else I will continue to go back

love discount tire couldn't be happier with them and when ordering on the phone they always give me more discounts. Also love no hidden charges for anything it's all wrapped up into one price and free shipping. Also they will beat any price.
 
Yes I am looking of non-Kevlar tires. I might have written it wrong before. I don't want anybody to be discouraged my Tire Rack. Just wanted to mention my personal bad experience. And I will be calling Discount Tire tomorrow.
