ATX ChamberII remove and reinstall

jeeeep

Hooked
I want to remove my ATX Chamber II wheels and polish them up - my concern is reinstalling them, do I need to line up the grooves from the bead lock to get a good seal again?

I have zero leaks right now and have considered polishing them mounted but I wouldn't be able to clean the area under the bolts.

Thanks

Are you wanting to take the whole tire off? Why not air down the tire, take the ring off and polish them with the tire still on

I do want to remove the tire. I thought about airing down but I also need to remove the valve stems and cleaning the wheel will grt water and stuff inside the tire.

yeah this is what I'll probably end up doing and doing one at a time.

I have mine ready to coat with Sharkhide ($60 per can!) - I am planning to number and index mine with a set of punches so I don't have to worry about mixing them up on down the road.

yeah, it's expensive but it'll keep your wheels looking good longer and protect them from winter road crap.

I went to Utah over the winter and the salt really took it's toll on the wheels. I'll take before and after pics once I get started.
