I always balance tires when I put them on a wheel.. Just to be safe. But that's just me!

I got a set of open country just now .how close do the measure to 35s

Not sure what your aspect ratio is either. But a 285/70 will generally be in the high 32 inch range per the manufacture websites. 285/75 will be even higher. Typically a 315 is closer to a 35.

285s are in the ballpark of a 33

Ok thanks everyone. I got them balanced didn't get to much lift i had 255s on

If you went from a 255/75R17 to a 285/70R17, you roughly went from a 32 to a 32.75. So you gained 3/8" ground clearance and total vehicle lift.
