Now that suspension is 100% complete and dialed in...Time to upgrade the audio system while keeping everything as OEM appearing as possible! Finished first steps yesterday: Removed the Alpine sub and reclaimed the much needed storage cubby in the cargo floor. Installed a passenger side JL Audio Stealthbox sub, fits perfectly and does not interfere with folding the rear seat. During this install I added some additional sound deadening to both the right rear interior and a heavy coat of spray-on Boom Mat to the underside of the wheel-well and let dry before reinstalling the right rear fender flare. Over the next few weeks (as time allows) will be adding JL Audio component speakers and two JL Audio amplifiers...

JL Audio Stealthbox fits perfectly and no interference with rear seat. *Rear seat left out till other audio upgrades complete.

Cargo floor storage reclaimed! Waiting on ordered soft mat liner for bottom...

Masked off what not to spray and then applied a heavy coat of spray-on Boom Mat and let dry before reinstalling fender flare. Note: The fender flare clips at the 1 and 2 o'clock position come with a special sealing gasket attached to the clips, luckily dealer had these special clips.

The all-wearher subwoofer comes with a special flip-up cover which only allows access to the tool storage area and jack but leaves a hole for the subwoofer. Did you replace the flip-up cover with an OEM one for the lesser/standard audio system? Or did it come with the side-mounted subwoofer kit?

It was in the cargo floor with the flip-up cover. I am temporary using the folding cargo cover from my '20 JLR, not exactly the same carpet texture and I need to put it back in the '20 before I sell it.

I want to either sell the Alpine sub and flip-up cover or trade it for a standard new/newer cover with matching carpet from a non-Alpine equipped JLR.

UPDATE:
Found a little time today so back on the audio upgrades...Removed all rear floor carpet along with both side trim panels and carpet (including the previously installed passenger side JL Audio Stealthbox) to completely cover with high mass self-adhesive sound deadening sheets. I ordered a '23 passenger side rear trim panel and removed the funky molded plastic bracket that bolts to the top of the '24 driver side rear wheel well to make room for the driver side JL Audio Stealthbox. When I originally ordered the JL Audio Stealthboxes I specified the 2 ohm models figuring to run them in series for a 4 ohm load for the 1200 watt JL Audio sub amp...should have plenty of clean bass for the lil 2-door with twin JL Audio subs! I also ordered the Trail Rail cargo tie downs that came on my '20 JLR and will add these when I reinstall everything-I really liked those on my '20, don't know why Jeep quit offering the Trail Rail system as an option.

A few pictures and notes below...

Since you have to remove the rear fenders to install the JL Audio Stealthboxes I thought I would use some BoomMat spray-on sound deadener on the wheel wells, applied several coats and used almost a full can per side.
The X marks are where special fender clips with a rubber gasket are used.

While I was in this area, I also removed the hinged gas door to fix that annoying rattle-both my '20 JLR and this '24 had it. To fix it I added a small (about 5x5 inch) piece of self-adhesive sound mat to the inside of the sheet metal in front of the gas door and carefully laid a small amount of clear silicone sealer around the opening before reinstalling the gas door.
Tip: If your gas door also rattles (sounds like something buzzing right behind the drivers door on 2-door JL's) the best option would be to measure the outside of the gas door and have a local tint shop cut you a thick clear-bra gasket about 3/8" wide and install on body prior to reinstalling the gas door-I thought of this too late...

JL Audio driver side Stealthbox sitting on installed JL Audio metal bracket, finished install will be about 1/4" higher after installing carpet. In addition to ordering a '23 MY driver side trim panel, you will have to source a small section of carpet to complete the OEM look. I have some black matched carpet I can cut to fit to fill in the area under the JL Stealthbox that the '24 carpet does not cover...You really don't want to order the molded '23 carpet as it won't fit in front of the Stealthbox on '24's and you would have to cut it anyway...plus it cost over $300!

The mystery molded plastic 'blob'...The only possible purpose I could see was to shield the seat belt/air bag mechanisms and the molded fiberglass JL Audio Stealthbox which bolts to a metal bracket you install on the wheel well will do the same thing...Strangely the passenger side is identical to all previous year JL's.
