What to do about rear tire mount at Moab

Many thanks to all. The "hitch slider" caught my imagination, and I ran with it. Here is what my local shop fabbed; just what I wanted. :thumb: And ... Here's the tail end after getting rid of the AEV caddy. I'm feeling much better about taking on those Moab ledges.

intermittent dead electrical system - how to troubleshoot?

@olram30, The fenders have been on for months, so I doubt this is the cause, but I'll mention it when I take the jeep into Oly 4x4 this week (getting RCV axles, and Currie drag link and tie rod). @txjeeplover, Thanks for sharing your experience. I hope you don't mind some questions. These...

intermittent dead electrical system - how to troubleshoot?

My 2013 JK 2 dr generally runs fine and has plenty of battery. This morning I pulled the Jeep into the spray car wash bay and turned it off. Then I decided to reposition it, but when I went to start it, the electrical system was completely dead: no dash lights, interior lights .... nothing...

Metal cloak game changer arb edition - let's see pics!!

Overline tube fenders and 8" overline flares. http://www.metalcloak.com/JK-Wrangler-Fenders-and-Body-Armor-s/253.htm The lift is advertised at 3.5" for a 2 door, but it seems taller to me. Sorry, I'm clueless about bump stops. Here's a pic. Maybe you can tell.

Metal cloak game changer arb edition - let's see pics!!

OP was asking for pictures ... here's my jeep high centering on a qualifier. Gives a good view of the suspension. The droop is the same for the OME shocks as 6 packs. The 6 packs have more up travel, but with 37" tires, I have scuff marks showing that my tires are rubbing up high in the wheel...

What to do about rear tire mount at Moab

The tire is pretty well free of the frame alright. What I can't show you is that there's a 2" steel hitch between the tire and swing frame, and it holds the tire steady. On the other hand, the hitch is a lever arm that is probably twisting the swing frame when I mash the tire on stuff.

What to do about rear tire mount at Moab

I'm having trouble with my rear tire smacking stuff here in WA, and I'm afraid I'll be toast when I run at the Easter Jeep Safari coming up. Here's a pic the tire mount. The bumper is a Posion Sypder RockBrawler II that's been modded to hold an AEV fuel caddy. I love the set up, except for...

LED tail lamp fix - MetalCloak JK ExoCorners

I just checked MetalCloak's web site, and they haven't updated their installation instructions, so I'm posting this in case anyone else has the same problem I did. I've also included stock lamp data that may be generally useful in similar situations. I purchased MetalCloak's JK ExoCorner Kit...

Managing kml files for Easter Jeep Safari

OK, Solved, sort of. Here's what I've learned so far. Each EJS kml file contains multiple tracks, so do not load them to the Gaia GPS cloud unless you want LOTS of tracks per trail. There's no bulk delete in the cloud, so I had 100s of tracks to clean out (super tedious). Most gps editors I...

Managing kml files for Easter Jeep Safari

I'm registered and preparing for my trip to Easter Jeep Safari, and part of my prep is getting some off line maps and trail data. I am having trouble getting the kml data into my ipad in a useful form. Each kml (one per trail downloaded from red rock 4x4) shows up as 20 or 30 separate tracks...

    WA wave

Hi Folks! Hope you're all doing great. Me, I'm enjoying the heck outta Jeeping (first time July 2013). My Jeep has a few dings on it now, and I had fun putting them there. See you round (Moab EJS 2014 FTW). http://www.meetup.com/aroundthesoundjeepclub/photos/19185482/#318185412...
