37 Cooper STT Pros on ATX Slabs balance issues

Really liked the look of the 13.50 wide STT PROs but had so many issues trying to balance them so decided to try these as I've heard good things along with the Nittos. But only running some almost fully built Dana 44s cant go wrong with having less weight/mass on the smaller axles.

37 Cooper STT Pros on ATX Slabs balance issues

That's actually another thing I wanted to look into see what tire pressure I should run in these tires, I think they are load range D. Right now I'm currently running them at 27psi but might drop them see if anything changes.

37 Cooper STT Pros on ATX Slabs balance issues

Happy to report that I was able to mount all 5 Baja Boss tires with the worst taking 16oz of weight, and the best was 7oz, so not bad at all. Sent back the Coopers. Also found my driver lower adjustable ball joint had play so torqued that one down and so far my suspension feels nice and solid...

37 Cooper STT Pros on ATX Slabs balance issues

So small update, decided to order 1 Mikey Thompson Baja Boss M/T and see if I had better luck with mounting those tires and hope has been restored, these balanced with only 7oz of total weight instead of the 30+ ounces for the Coopers. Decided to order 4 more and going to go ahead and hopefully...

37 Cooper STT Pros on ATX Slabs balance issues

Yeah I'm really thinking I got 2 bad tires so far, did balance one still in the 12oz but did balance good. The bad tire I couldn't balance mounted it on a non beadlock wheel and right away could see it wobbly and taking 20oz right away so might be switching 2 out

37 Cooper STT Pros on ATX Slabs balance issues

Yup was trying to use those as a guide and does look like its perty darn centered after doing the torque pattern for the 24 bolts, looks like pushed on the same amount of tire. Great idea though

37 Cooper STT Pros on ATX Slabs balance issues

Well took one of the wheels that I added to the balancer and balanced perfectly and spun true, followed the correct torque pattern for 24bolts and gonna try balancing this one later on today and see what it shows....

37 Cooper STT Pros on ATX Slabs balance issues

Maybe that might be a case to try and run them abit and then try to do the balancing, they do have a 45 day return policy. Gonna redo my rings maybe didn't do the right bolt torque procedure or something and see if anything changes. One of the tires visually was alittle wobbly so maybe pinched...

37 Cooper STT Pros on ATX Slabs balance issues

Yeah I've heard those nittos are usually perty darn round and don't need weights. But just trying to avoid any chance of getting deathwobble or adding to that possibility of getting it as I've suffered a few times and replaced basically all the suspension and now I'm on the new tires as I've...

37 Cooper STT Pros on ATX Slabs balance issues

Yeah was gonna do that, remove the one that took alot of weight and try running that one on the balancer see if it looks or shows that it needs weight or is not circular. Cuz I'm really running out of ideas. But willing to keep pushing to resolve this dilemma. But wheels were black with...

37 Cooper STT Pros on ATX Slabs balance issues

Ok so kinda starting to pull some hair out, so bought some 37x13.50R17 Cooper Stt Pros and mounted on some ATX Slab beadlocks, tried to balance them with stick on weights at work with a Hunter tire balance machine, first one took about 40oz of weight and finally balanced, second one asked for...

    Should your steering wheels move?

Yes actually that's when I found the sector shaft have a little play and installed another one. I have the new RockJock track bar installed about a month ago and that fixed the almost death wobble I was getting. Axle side of the track bar bracket is welded to the axle tube and the frame side did...

    Should your steering wheels move?

Yeah bought it back in 2017 new off the lot and slowly been adding parts since then. So kinda know how it should ride even when it had the 3inch evomfg plush springs with, at one time, Bilstein shocks and now kings. Dont get me wrong the wandering or slight bumpsteer dosent send me off the lanes...

    Should your steering wheels move?

I dont think it's me working the steering back and forth as I remember tracking perty darn straight before adding truss...had a shop check the axle and also ran a alignment and all seems ok no warped axle. So replaced the steering box as I did find alittle play in the sector shaft and wanted to...
