I use 4 hi on the Pine Barrens, but I turn off the ESP completely by holding the button for 7 seconds. I did watch a guy with a lift and 35"s get stuck, because he didn't know about holding the button. As soon as he got sideways the computer shut the throttle. Instant stuck.

I just changed the diff & trans fluids in my 12 JK at 9000 miles. The diffs look the same as yours, as did the trans. Drain plug magnets had metal dust. The trans magnet had a few flakes. I just washed the diffs out with brake clean, and installed lube locker gaskets. Just normal break in wear...
