Spoke too soon, noise is back. Haven't drove it much since I got it back, but had to drive it a fair amount last week, and it's squealin' like a stuck hog again. Plus the bad door lock switch they swapped out, quit working again...... Goes back in March 4th, but to a different dealer this time.

Customer service is a fuckin joke anywhere these days. They screw up, make it to be your fault, and have the take it or leave it attitude. Everyone figures there are other customers, so why do you matter. I had a situation with a hotel on Pensacola Beach in October. Drove down to see my dad...

Figured I'd update this. Parts finally showed up a week before Christmas, so they were able to get everything swapped out. So far so good. They used their chassis ears on it, and chalked it up to an internal failure in the pump. Guarantee it's from the factory neglecting to charge the system...

How much are you planning on using it? I'd say if you're only using it periodically and not an everyday or multiple times a week deal, it might be worth rolling the dice and see how it performs. I was in the same dilemma with a fridge.....really liked the ARB....but couldn't stomach the price...

Have you checked out Chewy.com? We get all of our dog stuff through them instead of driving to Petsmart, etc.

Had to call again to get updates. So evidently it's the AC compressor making the noise. But like everything right now, part is on national back order. I also had them check the door lock switch on the passenger front door, it's never worked since day one. Evidently the switch is junk.

Called today and surprise surprise they haven't even touched it yet.

Thanks! It's a 2.5" AEV lift with a 1" spacer up front. Tires are the 38" Nitto Trail Grapplers and KMC Grenade bead locks.

Jeep went to the shop today. Called the dealer I bought it from out of state, and they were able to get me in immediately. 4 hour round trip, but hopefully they fix it and don't keep it for a month....we shall see.

Hard to say with these damn things. My '18 JL has had the same tick since new and it has 40k on it. The tick really isn't very loud in person...but I agree, the video makes it sound like a 12v Cummins 😂

I'll give them a once over and see if I find anything loose. It's definitely more towards the passenger side / alternator area. I thought about pulling the alternator out of my JL and swap it just to rule that out.

The ticking is the typical clatter these motors make, my JL sounds identical. The video just amplifies it like crazy.

That was the first thing I thought to try, and it doesn't change the sound at all on or off. Funny backstory though....the AC didn't work off the lot brand new. Come to find out good ol Jeep never charged the system from the factory 😡

Sadly no, the only dealers with decent service departments are all booked out. The other dealers around here love to play the "I don't hear anything" or "that sound is normal" and won't fix crap.

Good idea, I'll try that and see if there is any change. And for sure.....no way in hell I'm hitting the road with it squealing like that.
