I have a LJ, 2005. The lights are led, but according to the specs each pulls about 6.2 amps per light, while factory wiring sees about 5 amps per light. How is it some of you have lights pulling less? SGT USMC,which lights are you planning on using?

Looking to upgrade the factory fog lights with 75 watt lights . They’re too much for the factory 55 watt wiring. Can I use the factory lights to power a relay for the new lights? That way I could use the factory fog light switch.

I’m in the process of addressing the lack of interior light in the Jeep. I’ve added some leds in the front cab. Now I want to have lights in the cargo area that activate when I open the rear. Anybody done this or know of a write up?

Well, I’m persistent if nothing else. I went out and pushed on the column harness and they turned on. I’ll have to pull it apart and check the pins.

Follow up, I now realize the relay on the switch is the flasher. I just checked and the dash light indicator does not come on. Could this be one of the instances where if the dash indicator light fails it takes the lights with it?
