Man I'm ready. Just name the time and place!

LJ Build - Slow & Steady

Both driveshafts completed with all new u joints. Had to bring out the sledge hammer to knock some of those joints out but no more metal grinding noise! Fluid in the transfer case looked pretty dirty, feels good to have it with fresh fluid. Was having some issues fully engaging into 4L and I...

    Leaking fluid help

I haven't been running AC regularly. I did run it to test some things a couple of weeks ago. Just running the heater when I do drive it. I rarely use the defroster. I did notice some water on my passenger floorboard but I also have had some leakage with my half doors so really didn't think...

    Leaking fluid help

Well now I'm unsure. I put a cup where it was leaking to see. Overnight, after driving it a full day, it looks just like water. I was only concerned because it was sitting for a few days without being driven and it had a wet stain in that spot. Maybe it's nothing and maybe I wasn't seeing green.

    Leaking fluid help

Noticed some fluid under the passenger side. Thinking maybe heater core. Can anyone confirm this fluid and location? Looks like a vent tube by the oil filter coming out of the firewall.

Heard a noise when accerlating so figured the driveshaft u joints might be the issue. Might as well do them all and drain/refill the transfer case while I'm down there.

    This is true though.

LJ Build - Slow & Steady

Haha funny you said that. I actually took it off to wire it and when I saw it without it, that was my exact thought. I think I'm just torn because it reminds me of Jeeps when I was younger.

LJ Build - Slow & Steady

Got a killer deal on a bolt in sport cage. Installed it pretty easily and seems pretty solid for something that bolts to the existing cage. Switched out the old fogs with some yellow cubes. Took a ride with the family Ratliff Ferry Trading Post, fun little restaurant that sits off the...

    What is this connector

Sorry, here are some better pictures. I kinda worried if it had to do something with the radio.

LJ Build - Slow & Steady

Wanted something for the jeep to help with keeping it in my possession and came across this kill switch. Attaches to the battery and is controlled with a remote. Might deter them but it was a cheap little investment. Didn't really want to get into installing a full blown security system...

    What is this connector

Anyone have a clue what this might be? I found it dangling on the passenger side, under the glove box. Didn't really see anything that could connect it to.

LJ Build - Slow & Steady

Checked my bump stops and found this in the rear. Looks like the front was already done. I was lazy and didn't want to disconnect everything and opted to used coil compressors. They were surprising easy after I got the hang of it. Had them compressed and off the jeep in a matter of minutes...

LJ Build - Slow & Steady

Oh, forgot to mention this little tidbit. I noticed some atf fluid under the jeep, so I checked the fluid level and it was damn near up half the dipstick. The guy I bought it from said a shop rebuilt the transmission but I guess they got overzealous with the fluid? Luckily I only drove it a...

LJ Build - Slow & Steady

Lots of progress happened in the last few months and almost got her ready to go. Replaced the stock battery terminals. Going to give these a try as I always liked having multiple options for adding cables. These have a clamp that keeps them on tight and can loosen them pretty quickly if...

LJ Build - Slow & Steady

Finally finished cleaning up the YJ doors and painted them. I had to cut off the last peg and reweld it to fit. The seal is good except for two places but added some and now no leaks. Bought some new key cylinders for them and regreased the internal mechanisms. Turned out pretty good with a...

    Air compressor

Great, thanks for the info. Thought so but wanted to make sure.

    Air compressor

I'm trying to fit an air compressor in my engine bay but the only place that I can get it just right is in an upright position. Is it okay for those to sit in that position? Attached a pic of it.
