I always bring along a hand-held ham radio when wheeling just in case of an emergency, or if by chance another wheeler is a ham and has a radio. Unfortunately, I do not know any fellow wheelers who are also amature radio operators. I did install a CB for trail communications.

I will be picking up the new Rubicon I ordered next week. The dealer will be changing out the stock tires and rims for my 33" tires/wheels. Do I need to have the "computer" reprogrammed as it is a manual transmission? Is this something the dealership could simply do? Thanks.

My Craftman 3/8" drive inch pond and foot pound torque wrenches are ok. They both have screened painted numbers on the handle that are wearing off. I just recently bought a 1/2 drive Kobolt that have all the numbers engraved. Much better.

I have a VR800 Warn winch on my JK. I would like to swap the wire to synthetic line. I hear that one should only use synthetic line on a winch designed for synthetic. Is this true? There is nothing wrong with my wire, just would like all the advantages of synthetic line. Any thoughts?

I just renewed my Ham license. I will be installing Ham and CB units in my Jeep soon. I dont care for CB much. Last time I used one was about 35yrs ago. The CB will be for trail use only. I too hope more wheelers would switch over to Ham. KE4TQV
