    Lead East 2015

Howdy all, just curious if anyone was familiar with Lead East here in NJ and planned on going this weekend? It's a big antique car show in Parsippany, NJ. ...it's not directly a Jeep event, but there are usually a handful of WWII era Jeeps that end up showing up. My family and friends have...

    Tapered Bolt Head "Protectors"

I hadn't thought of that. ...and now that you mention it, the only option I had to remove the damaged bolts was to use a wrench and hope to be able to get it on a side that wasn't dented/rolled over. That being said...I might be stuck between a rock and a hard place in getting the bolt off...

    Tapered Bolt Head "Protectors"

Hi Gang, I just got finished installing the ProTek skids on my '14 JKUR today. While doing the install, nearly all of the exposed bolt heads that need to be removed and reused for the skids had a damaged corner(s) or edges that were rolled over to the point where it was difficult to put a...

What's needed for a soft top?

This is what the brackets look like attached the back roll bar. There's a small Velcro patch you'll have to open up and attach the bracket with two bolts per side. Make sure the brackets and the bolts are included with the top.

    Color match paint experience?

I went to a local auto supply shop and had them mix a single stage can of bright white for me...matched fine. Clear coat and base coat is mixed together. Cost about $30 You'll want to get a can of primer and some polish to shine up the paint when done.

    ARB Twin compressor mounting?

I'm using this swivel connector to a typical air quick connect. http://www.amazon.com/Hot-Max-28085-90-degree-Swivel/dp/B00N2TVWOO I rotated my manifold to get some more clearance, and I have a slight impression on the hood insulation. Otherwise there's no problem at all.

    Thinking about getting one?

I don't have one but did sit in one at a dealership a few weeks ago...it was indeed surprisingly roomy inside. The cargo area was very large as well...I believe you can "drop" the floor level lower so you get extra height.

What was done to your rig this week?

Evo skins finally installed. Boy was that a fun install to do alone. Sliders are in the garage awaiting paint. -Ryan

    Air compressor suggestions?

You'll need a fairly large tank for "continuous" air tool usage. However, using a 50' hose and no tank, I can easily break lug nuts free with my ARB twin and a harbor freight impact...I can tighten them back up waiting a few seconds in between each lug. It's by no means as good as it would be...

What do you do with your doors?

Some 2x4s and PVC with casters. I just took some shop towels and electrical tape and wrapped the bottom parts up where the doors sit. They still slide a little so I may get some neoprene pads on there instead to keep everything from moving...especially when pushing the cart around. I need to...
