    DIY Trail Vise

I'm too cheap to buy a trail d-vise so I tried to make my own. Here's what I came up with. First I drilled 2 holes in some 2" square bar stock. The radius's were milled with a rotary table. Then I milled them to the thickness I wanted and milled slots for the jaws to mount into.

Replaced to old pinion flange with a forged 1350 pinion yoke. The transfer case is clocked lower than I want. A clocking plate would reduce spline engagement, the best option I could come up with is to make a new foot plate and clock the holes. The material will be here Friday. Hopefully the...

Since it's an automatic now, the clutch peddle isn't really needed any more. I decided to reduce the weight a little.

Already have a new list of things to do one the buggy. Trying to get all the simple things done before next payday. Flipped the steering bolts, if I loose the nuts the bolts won't fall out now. One of that shops suggestions.

Got the buggy back today. Really happy with what they did. Already have a new list of things to do. All that I need to drive it is, transmission crossmember, drive shafts, transmission shift linkages and the transmission to work.

Got the buggy out of the garage. I loaded it up to take it to a local custom shop to have a few things done to it. I'm having them plumb the radiator and while it's there do granny lines, fuel lines and an in fuel cell pump. The shop will give it a good look over and let me know of any issues...

Got some work putting brake line clips on the trusses. Got the hydraulic lines routes through the front truss, pretty tight though.

Power steering heat sink is mocked up. I used 2 pieces of 2" square tubing to make the mounts. They don't connect, only long enough to support the cooler, maximize air flow and cooling.

Parts are coming in. Brake and steering plumbing parts. Had enough to start on the rear axle, still waiting for the rest to show up.

The steering column was too high. I took a piece of 2x3 tubing and made a spacer to drop the wheel. Welding kinda sucks with a splint on...lol
