You're welcome. We used these @ work before going with air powered models. I bought mine before turning my Jeep into Swiss cheese. :D You can set the depth, but I practiced on some scrap before using it on the Jeep.
Good Luck!

Well it looks like the transmission is shot (full of water, sludge and loose syncros) :grayno: I've never done one before but I guess it's time to learn how to rebuild a transmission
Thanks! I was happy about the condition of the inside and the way it sounded when running. The transmission looks like it might be another story though :grayno:
Here's a couple of updates:
The first thing I was going to do when I got it was a tune-up and new carb. Went to pull the plugs and they were so rusted they just disintegrated, so I had to pull the head.
Here's a shot of one of the better plugs.

Thanks guys! My plans are 1st to get it running. 2nd work on the transmission (It doesn't feel like it goes into gear). 3rd work on the steering (It has a crazy amount of play). 4th work on the brakes (I noticed a couple of the lines are not connected). Then hopefully try driving it in the...
Picked up a non-running 1946 Willys to mess with last month and have been encouraged to start a thread. I will try to update the progress until completion or it gets to be to much and I sell it :) Anyway here are a few pictures of it when I picked it up.
Thanks. I've downloaded the repair manual and started working on it a few hours a week when I have a little time. So far the most frustrating thing is working with 70 year old fasteners. Changing the spark plugs involved removing the head, busting out the porcelain, PB blaster, heat and an...
Ok, not much to look at, but picked this one up last month. 1946 CJ2A. Doesn't run, dirty, rusted, but for $1,600, I figured it might be fun to play with. It's probably more then I'll want to tackle, but we'll see.
