I'm going to be heading back to BMRA on Labor Day, September 5. Are any of you in Texas or Louisiana interested in joining me for a good trail ride? This will be my fourth trip there, so I'm somewhat familiar with the trails.

Mine is the manual My Sky option. The powered version is definitely the way to go, but I didn't have many options as I bought a 2015 Trailhawk in February of 2016.

The My Sky option can be a bit challenging at first, but I'm glad we chose it. Putting the panels in the bag and then putting the bag in the small hatch area is a pain. However, once you let the sunshine in and the wind starts blowing on a nice day it is certainly worth it!

I saw a guy out on the trail with a DayStar lift kit on his Renegade Trailhawk. He was singing its praises. He also said he hit a few of the harder trails that I had avoided.

The Achilles heal for this Jeep is ground clearance. As good as the 4x4 system is, you will be seriously limited because of the need for more ground clearance. There were five of us in the Renegade (except when I asked my daughter to take a picture or video). That didn't help the issue!

I talked with a few other Jeep guys while I was there. Everyone was very helpful when my brother destroyed a tire on his Land Rover as well. I talked with a guy who just installed the Daystar lift kit on his Renegade. I've got to get one of those!

LOL! I think there will be a high of 97 on Saturday for the trail ride, I should tell my buddy with the Land Rover to bring coolant!

I was out there the Monday after Memorial Day. I'm taking friends with a 2010 Wrangler Sport and a 2006 Land Rover LR3. I had such a good time on that last trip that I wanted to share the experience with some friends.
