There is a shortcut, you can tap into the rear power outlet on the left. I would not do this if your trailer is not running LED’s though just because of the current draw. I was going to do it this way but decided against it and just ran it up to the battery, it is not that big of a job.

I have a 2024 and bought one of these, did the update and had similar problems. Went back and forth with the company a few times. They gave me a refund said there was a hardware issue. I will be buying/trying it again in a few months, hopefully by then the bugs are worked out.
