Went to look at a trailer...

It might work for you in the overland setting but we just got off the Rubicon and came across a guy in a JKU pulling one of those trailers. We was running 40s and locks and the trailer had a title hitch loaded with a moderate amount of gear. It did not go well for him. The weight of the trailer...

    MPG Towing

What does your old man get with his 6.0 not towing? One great thing about that motor is it does NOT have all the new cylinder deactivation or automated fuel management than the new GM motors are getting. I'd be happy with 9mpg towing I just hope I get 17 or better around town.

    MPG Towing

They do get pretty good mileage but it's not really about their weight when unloaded it's what they do when towing. I currently have a Ram 3500 Mega cab with a mild 3" lift in the front and 1" in the rear running 35" tires on stock 3.42 gears. I get 15-17mpg everyday driving but I've pulled a...

My Dynomax Quiet Crawler Modified Install

Wanted to thank Aermotor. Had everything welded up. Pleasant sound w/ no drone, a lot quieter than I expected.

    Motorhome towing

The time spent offloading the Jeep then switching the trailer would be better spent just cruising up the hill at whatever pace you can maintain.

    New tow rig-2018 3500 Ram

The factory 5th wheel package is okay but I think you're better off without it. Do yourself a favor and get a BW turnover. I have the same truck and that kit is easy to install. That hole visible from the inside is used as a template to drill the hole so it's super easy. Instead of having 5...

    Winching technique

Finally someone with some not so common sense. Never say never but anchoring the rear of your frame is never a good idea. There big things to consider here are: Weight of the vehicle you are trying to recover Incline of the hill Type of recovery gear and what each item is rated at First option...

    High Clearance Rear Bumper Options

Savvy off-road has a new design that does not require cutting out the rear crossmember...see the blue Jeep pictured. That VKS might look a little better if you removed the dimple die cut off section and replaced it with a solid piece and did the same on the wings.

    Prolink vs Flatlink

This. The Flatlink has a lower profile when in the stowed position and if that is what you're going to run might as well go with the expert version for the reasons tgoss mentioned.

    Motorhome towing

Based on the number you provided my concern would be the weight of the trailer and Jeep being over 7500lbs. I'm guessing the trailer is going to be somewhere between 1700-3000 lbs. then factor the weight of your Jeep 2 or 4 dr plus spare, tools, full tank of fuel and any other equipment. I dunno...

    Motorhome towing

Merlin I can't point you in the direction of any particular model as everything we are looking at is newer. I've done a lot of research on this topic so here is my take. I like towing on a trailer vs flat towing for a variety of reasons (able to get a broken Jeep home, saving miles on expensive...

New Evo Mfg pro series hinged gate

Looking for some help. I'm trying to find out if the Evo Pro series tire carrier hinges will work with these AEV corner guards without having to trim the corner guards. The bolts seem pretty long but I am looking more at the footprint of the hungers than anything

    Hauling my Jeep

First off you shouldn't need to add a kit like that in order to equalize the load over 2 or 3 axles. I am very familiar with towing and have towed mylitiple configurations. This car hauler will be on the smaller side of what I usually tow. Many people feel the need for kits like you posted for...

    Hauling my Jeep

I am dead set on torsion axles. They are the equivalent of having independent suspension and will provide a smoother ride than leaf springs will.
