    Roger's Evolutions - 2012 2-Door JK

One thing I forgot that I recently added to the Jeep were these door pockets from Overland Outfitters. Fantastic quality and I definitely like them better than the scrotal net bag that was there before...

    Roger's Evolutions - 2012 2-Door JK

Though I have a pile of parts in my living room (God, I love my wife!), last weekend all I got accomplished was changing the spark plugs. Well, that and buying said wife a "rocket ship"!

    late shift point after regear

I've driven mine for thousands of miles and it still does this... I think as others have said, this is just how Jeep intends the vehicle to run. I once read a post from a supposed Chrysler engineer that said 3.6 likes WOT evidencing that engines that were routinely run at higher RPMs maintained...

    late shift point after regear

My experience matches yours - only I only went to 33" tires and 4.10 gears in my 2012 JK Sport. As an "easy fix" I just use my skinny pedal to cue the transmission to shift by ever so slightly letting off the throttle when it fails to shift on its own. 9 times out of 10 this causes the...

Stock Height JLU Sport on 35s

Beautiful Jeep and pictures! What do you think about the Rock Hard skids? They are here in Nebraska as I am and I have already purchased their winch plate and am considering their 1/4" skids...

Pic from the trails! I have a video from Fun Run too, but will have to figure out how to get it uploaded... This pic is from the Snake trail.

    Roger's Evolutions - 2012 2-Door JK

Made it the 10.5 hours to and from Hot Spring ORV over the weekend to collect the three badges for the trails there. What a blast! I rode with two other Jeeps that I met on the trail with three couples from Tennessee running them. They had a built JKU and a JLU all on 35" sticky tires. I got...

    3.6 Passenger Side Oil Leak?

I agree on checking out the valve cover gasket... Perhaps yours was one of the early 2013 models that had the head casting sand issue resulting in the replacement of the head thus damaging the gasket or perhaps not fully torquing one of the fasteners when they reinstalled the valve cover.

    Roger's Evolutions - 2012 2-Door JK

I would love to armor up the fenders and quarter panels using panels that would match up nicely to the Genright sliders. I am happy to modify whatever I can find to match up with the rocker protectors, but am trying to avoid fabricating something entirely from flat steel; however, I am not...

    Roger's Evolutions - 2012 2-Door JK

Genright sliders are finally on! I started on Saturday and got the drivers side on and the passenger side prepped and then it rained all day Sunday... SO, last night I finished up the passenger side in advance of our trip to Hot Springs this weekend to hopefully collect 3 more badges running...

    A Dirt Head's JK

Excellent! Thanks! I was considering a set on the more affordable side so that when they "burn out" I am not constantly paying $$$. Good luck on the lift! Happy to answer any questions for problems you run into as I just did mine a month or so ago. The only real surprise I ran into was needing...

Which lights are those and how are you liking them? Your build is coming along nicely! Awesome to see other 2-door builds!

    Roger's Evolutions - 2012 2-Door JK

So far the places I have gone have had good access to air and I generally do not air down much below 18psi. Thus, at this point, it is more of an itch than something I have found myself wishing I had. I have like 5 10-20lb CO2 tanks sitting around (homebrewer of beer) and have thought about...

    Roger's Evolutions - 2012 2-Door JK

I purchased my Jeep in May of 2020 and wheeled it for the first time in October of 2020. This experience - my first off-roading trip ever - revealed that I have a little natural talent off-roading but that I also have a TON to learn! I decided then to evolve my Jeep in a series of stages so that...

Trigger S-Pod light when Jeep is in reverse?

Well, I AM a big fan of overkill! Great suggestion on the soldering of wires versus taking shortcuts with the crimp on fittings! Never thought about the impact of vibration... Looks like I have some wiring repairs to revisit on my JK!

Trigger S-Pod light when Jeep is in reverse?

My opinion: 1) leave the light connected to the SPOD; 2) get a couple T coupler for electrical wiring T-ing into both the reverse light wires and those from the light to your SPOD; 3) get a suitable relay for the amperage draw of the light; and 4) T the reverse light wiring as the signal wire to...

Has anyone done a JKL conversion on their 2 door?

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the look of a stretched 2 Door - the pic is my desktop image at work for goodness sake - but, to me, it's an enormous expense for not much better of a "mousetrap"... That said, let no one crush your dreams if this is how you want to spend your cash!

    Metal in rear diff. FML.

Seems to be fairly common... Happened to me! Resulting in my upgrading to a set of Rubi axles with lockers versus continually having to fix the LSD gears. Sorry this happened to you again! That said, mine looked like yours and I drove it like that for over a year without issue.
