Get your new JKs now, seems like it's all over - No more Soild Axle in 2016

I honestly don't know a lot about desert racing, I don't live near one, so I'll take your word for it. I assumed the guy that said he doesn't like rockcrawling and prefers desert running was talking about loose sand/gravel, for which I believe the raptor was designed to do. Sharkey's 17K DTD...

    Full Metal Jacket Jeep

Hahaha, he was standing with me. He was giving us a demo. He was like "go ahead, try to scratch it." The finish is not done by starwood (I forgot the name of the place in Texas they use) but it is 2x stronger than LineX and is guaranteed for life against peeling, chipping, and UV. They also...

    McGard lugnuts?

Depends where you live. Wheels are still big BIG business, especially special editions (SRT, AMG, M, etc.) Its also a problem on vehicles with similar bolt patterns that fit a lot of other vehicles. Depending on the vehicle, the wheels/tires are big money, so it is still a serious threat...

Get your new JKs now, seems like it's all over - No more Soild Axle in 2016

It became too complicated on the JK. Members of various forums report that after dropping it for the first time, they have had leaks that have never been fixed. I personally don't care if they ditch it....its a feature that is too cumbersome (and ugly) to use but the doors need to stay. I...

Dual Battery or just 1 good deep cycle battery

I looked at the install instructions and the intake part of the tray will stay bolted down perfectly fine on it own. You don't seem to lose any strength when you cut off the battery part. I wonder how much a stock tray costs to replace....can't be that much.

Dual Battery or just 1 good deep cycle battery

For me personally, it's not about handling the load, it's about making sure you don't end up with a dead battery. I'm not looking at it as 1k because no matter what dual system you go with you need two batteries. If you just want a system that can handle the load, a quality deep cycle will...

Dual Battery or just 1 good deep cycle battery

Considering other companies are charging $100+ for just a tray (and not one nearly as well designed) Id say the genesis kit is almost reasonable in price. A smart isolator or a smart charging system alone is around $200 and then you need the wire to hook it all up, the terminals, and the...

Dual Battery or just 1 good deep cycle battery

Im looking to get the genesis kit sometime in the near future, I have yet to come across a better designed dual system for the JK. While the price may be steep at first glance, their tray is engineered to a stupid level of obsessiveness and thought, and their smart isolator is very clever...

    Winching questions

Depends on the situation. If you have a lump of wood you can throw in front of the tire, by all means, won't hurt. I have seen people winch themselves towards the vehicle they are trying to rescue (snow/ice) and I have seen vehicles pull without choking the wheels. The simple answer is...

    Youtube embedding

Hey mods/admins I was just wondering why when you paste a youtube link, it doesn't embed but rather just leaves a link? Is it the forum engine that does this? Any way around it, suggestions, etc?

    Truck-Lites

It's generally very minor, but it bothers some people.... (Ignore the X-ish pattern at the bottom of the pics...thats just the stinger shadow) Low Beam Highbeam XX pattern Probably not enough to bother most people...its just a small hotspot.

Here is the proper way to aim headlights... (Copied and pasted my own response from another thread on another forum) 1) park your jeep where your headlight is 20' away from a wall on level ground. 2) measure (at the jeep) the height of the center point (bulb) of the headlight to the floor...
