Just got off the phone with Advanced Adapters and you can no longer get jk ds bolt pattern yokes. Supposedly they are sold out and can't get anymore or make any. So now I can't just throw the atlas in and run it. Gonna have to wait for axle swap like original plan. Haven't decided what im gonna...
Still haven't started on the jeep.... Need to button up another project first. It looks like I'm running out of time to have it done by the end of summer run. Not impossible but we will see. Finally opened up my advanced adapters box yesterday. 4 speed atlas looking good.
Still waiting on a couple more parts and gotta finish another project before I start on the jeep. So took it wheelin today. I am blown away by how much a d30 can put up with 3.21's and open. Did some custom body work but no broken parts
Ya.... The Toyota breaking had a lot to do with the very small budget... Haha really soft leafs and shitty pinion angle (even with a pretty big shim). Gonna link it and honestly waiting to get that done before I start the jk. But when the yota had a front drive shaft in it, she creepy crawled...
More good news! At this rate I might have this thing ready for the end of summer run. Probably come down to sleepless nights in the shop the week leading up to it. But if thats what it takes.... Also got some more work done today. Front truss is fully welded and my rear 4 link crossmember along...
Got more work done today. Front truss is almost fully welded and i drilled out all my link brackets to 5/8's. (Forgot to get pics of that) Also started putting together and welding my rear 4 link crossmember. (Didn't get any pics of it welded up) I'm gonna be running beefy grade 8 5/8's bolts on...
Got the 14 bolt completely buttoned up (other than gears and locker). Painted it, took off the hubs for new studs, paint, and seals. Im gonna get more shielding gas tomorrow and continue with welding front truss and some suspension brackets.
Worked on axles today. Got all the old mounts completely off the 14 bolt and got it all grinded smooth. Then i sand blasted the chunk because it was pretty crusty. Then moved onto welding on the truss. Truss is fully welded and ready for paint. Was planning on knocking out the front tomorrow but...
