Smoking Meat -- Tips, Opinions, Recipes

Alright trying my hand in smoking tomorrow morning. Got a 8 lb brisket and did a test smoke today to play around with temp control for about 3 hrs. Planning on throwing it on around 430am tomorrow. Any tips from you pros!? I know probably not the best set up. And it leaks quite a bit but...

    Throw out bearing?

Well I think it's time to replace the TB again. This one lasted 4 years at least. Just want to get other opinions though. While taking off I'm getting a squeaky squeal noise that sounds like metal on metal... however it only seems to do it mostly while there's a load on the transmission...

    Shop heating options and opinions

Man I'm a sucker for a wood burning stove. You really think you'll be tending to it a lot? All stoves I've dealt with are good to go for a good bit and can even get too hot sometime. Plus taking a quick coffee break and throwing in a log isn't a pain. If you just don't want to go that route my...

    Hi Lift Jack

Honestly and I think most will agree it's not going to really "save" you from anything. Do you have a winch? Do you wheel with friends mostly? carry a decent bottle jack with a good wood block. Don't think you'll ever need it. Unless you just want to attach something else to the jeep Sent...

Does it matter if brake fluid is synthetic

So I looked into this further and asked a pretty reputable resource of mine and was advised to not mix glycol (dot 3,4,5.1) and silicon (dot 5) break fluids. So just double check the labels. All but the dot 5 is actually manufactured as synthetic but some label it so and charge more... go figure...
