I found this idea here on WAL. Works great, and it's cheap. You can find them at the hardware store. Just slide it over your factory bumpstop. And give it a trim it you need to.

I used one of these. Its they only tool I could find to work. Just squeeze the heck outta it. Torque specs chart

You can get a new one for $65. I've heard it talk before. Sounded good. Very similar to the Cobra 25. Nice radio, has some good features to it. If it's been peaked and tuned it will perform better.

You have to take the rubber tip off the top. Look for the wire that's wrapped around the fiberglass stick. That's what you need to trim. When your SWR's are where you want them. Put the rubber tip back on.

If it's a fiberglass one. Take the rubber tip off. Some have a tunable screw. Others you have to trim the wire with a pair of snips. Little at a time. If you have a steel whip. Take the whip out and Trim off the bottom. Little at a time.

I don't think you can. You'll mess up your radio talking on it with your swr's very high. Try a 21 ft coax, that's what's recommend by most cb shops. Easier to set low swr's.
