Front Axle Shafts : C-Clips vs. Full Circle Clips

I had to go to Fastenal to get a replacement when I messed one of mine up. It seemed like it was an odd size for the typical hardware store find.... something metric.

What’s in your Rubicon ready Jeep?

Thanks all! We are headed there from Ohio. We are stretching our time a bit, but haven't decided if we are staying in the area or taking a slightly southern loop home to check out the Grand Canyon.

What’s in your Rubicon ready Jeep?

Thanks Eddie! You mentioned some things I hadn't considered and others I very much agree with. I'm sure the group will be very large when we are there. ;) :yup: But I look forward to meeting and wheeling with everyone.

Wow! I didn't know this... Good call. I rarely use sunscreen (although I know I should) :thumb::yup:

What’s in your Rubicon ready Jeep?

I should add that I will be traveling with my wife and my 13 year old son. So while I have a 4-door, space can still be an issue.

What’s in your Rubicon ready Jeep?

Thank you... any perticular spill kit type? I currently carry a bag type kit, but most of the Rubicon prep sites mention a bucket type. I'm not fond of the space a bucket would take.

What’s in your Rubicon ready Jeep?

I'm not asking for general gear here, but more specifically gear that is unique to the area. I have camped before so I’m good there. I’m also good on the recovery and tool needs as they are the same I would carry for any trail day. It’s the little things that those of us out east rarely (if...

    Driveshaft Alignment

This is a good share. I'd love to see a video with more infor that relates to a shaft that has a double-cardon joint on one end. I'd also like to have a better unserstanding of the phasing.

What’s in your Rubicon ready Jeep?

We are planning to make the voyage and tick one off the bucket list this year by doing the Rubicon trail. Like an excited 5 year old waiting on Santa Christmas Eve, I research the web in preparation. One thing that has become abundantly clear is that the gear for the trail is different than I...

    Oh-confusia… what to do?

Many of you know I recently purchased a second Jeep for my wife to daily drive. It was build more than what would be ideal for this task, but the price was right and she wouldn’t have allowed it to remain stock anyway. ;) This Jeep has a “built” D30: Sleeves, Gussets, E-Locker, 4.88 gear, and...

    4-Link Calculator

Thanks, I ended up finding (with some help) an excel calculator. I am glad I did because my first go had my anti-squat jacked. I'm still struggling with the equal length arms or upper shorter set-up.... and how far I want to triangulate the lowers. Time will tell. This is a fun project. The...

    4-Link Calculator

Let me ask instead about the points I am concerned with... Maybe someone can chime in. I know moving the lower arm's center mounts outboard will make for less flex, but more stability. The problem is I don't have a good gut feel for how much stability is increased for any given measurement. (I...

    4-Link Calculator

VMware is the only VM that connects to my ports consistently in all the software I use. It is also the only one that likes Profibus and Profinet commissioning. (Factory Automation stuff) I tried others but they all had issues!

    4-Link Calculator

I use VMware Workstation. For some reason is is looking for a serial port at install ??? My PC doesn't have one. I can install one to connect to, but kinda hoped there was something from this century available. Plus... at some point I wanted to turn this over to my buddy, and he doesn't have...

    4-Link Calculator

Morning All, I am trying to help a buddy with a stretched LJ build. He is planning to go with a double triangulated 4-link. (rear half of the frame is already off) Anyone have a link or info on some 4-link calculation software? I used to have an old DOS based package when I was into drag...

    Hydraulic assist setup questions

I am in the beginning stages of adding much needed hydraulic assist to my rig and have a few thoughts/questions. Experience and opinions are valued. I currently do not run a raised track bar or d-link flip. To be honest, I am very happy with the way my Jeep handles on the road. So much so, that...
