Jdofmemi and the yet unnamed Jeep rebuild

White Jeep news. It got to go play a lot at Moab. Because it sits taller, and so many Moab trails have big ledges to overcome, it got 7 trails to Vengeance only doing 3. I also found a name. White Jeep is now named Scrappy. It's like my last little dog. White, not always well behaved...

    Vengeance, part III

It's a great rig, and a ton of fun. Made a whole trip without getting either one out, though for a minute I thought we might need it to get Vic off of a rock while he was winching and having problems. Now I will leave this here: Tried the video, but no go. Came up Hells Gate, passenger side...

The Build and Adventures of Bearbait

Best wishes on the upcoming birth. The BFGs are competent tires, with good all around traction in everything except mud. They do good on snow, and surprisingly well in rocks, especially considering that they wear like iron. Very good tread life.

    ARB Fridge/Freezer

Food for thought on wiring things like this. Heavy wire costs a lot, but cheap jumper cables are, well, cheap. You can buy a set and just cut the clamps off for a heavy paired wire, with extra tough insulation that will withstand the harsh environment better than regular wire. I wouldn't...

    Vengeance, part III

is next trail was Pritchet Canyon. That was a fun ride, and made every obstacle but one unassisted. We did have to winch Axle Hill, though I was close to getting up a couple of tries. The long run out after the end of Pritchet was fun as well. Made it back to the casa in Moab in 45 minutes 😁

Where did your Jeep take You this Week?

Took me to the Top of the World today I think it's the same one. He just keeps coming back for the free Jeep rides 😁

Ride quality of coilovers vs regular coil springs

Sounds like not a bad plan, except for the part about using the Rubicon D-44. The gears are fine in it, and with upgrades, the axles are fine too, but the housing and "C"s are prone to bend if pushed very hard, or even by inadvertently hitting an unseen dip or washout in the road a bit hard...
