My smittybilt xrc8 freespooled. However, the grease is garbage and gums more than greases, making freespooling almost impossible over time, especially in the cold. Find some writeups on how to replace that grease with some quality stuff and you may find you have a freespooling winch again...

It is far easier to remove a banged up bolt than a bolt in a banged up protector. Now maybe if they made a much larger opening around the bolt head, it would have more room to collapse without preventing a socket being attached. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
