    Gear Upgrade

I just did 4.88s on 37s and I'm wicked happy. I was on 4.10s for almost 2 years and it made a HUGE difference. Not to mention going from ~11mpg on the computer to ~15. I'm probably getting like 50-70 more miles a tank so that pretty solid!

    Whine after regearing

Hey y’all! Wanted to update you on the journey here. I was originally hesitant to name the shop since I couldn’t prove if they had done something wrong or what. Ultimately they’ve invested a ton of their time (12 extra hours) & money (some custom work explained below) into fixing my issues and...

High pitched engine noise on '22 Gladiator

Did you call Jeep Wave? nobody ever does, but when the new steering boxes came out in '20 for my JL they jumped me to the top of the line. I'd do that now.

Looking for Trial&Error experiences feedback Frankenstein lift

So what i'm recommending is maybe shorter, not longer, sway link length. This way the bar doesn't travel up as far. Be careful that the link doesn't go straight on the bar end and invert during full axle drop. What were the thrust angles the alignment shops gave you? Did you get one of those...

Recommendations for floor mats and cargo liner

Send em back. The weathertechs don't have the drains built in like the Mopars do. I love them. I've had my eyes on this though.. https://goarmorlite.com/collections/18-23-wrangler-jlu-4-dr/products/full-vehicle-kit-18-23-jeep-wrangler-jlu-4dr

Looking for Trial&Error experiences feedback Frankenstein lift

So you have 2 issues right? 1) Sometimes there's 1/2" droop & 2) swaybar contact. How do you 'sometimes' have a 1/2" difference? If its on flat level ground is it level? If so then its level. If the sway bar is making contact then maybe your links are too long and you need to move the bar...

Spicer Differential Locker Integration Kit for Rubicon: PN 10177304

I was digging around on Dana's website and found something I didn't know existed. This lets you wire an aftermarket locker onto the factory locker switches. https://media.spicerparts.com/cfs/files/media/YvWQHTLD7kf6LpSBK/SHAIS10202674.pdf?token=eyJhdXRoVG9rZW4iOiIifQ%3D%3D&store=original

    Whine after regearing

awesome info. I called a local shop that does race car drivetrains and spoke to the owner. He referred me back to my shop and even dropped the shop managers name. I think that with what you guys explained and he told me about ECGS I just need to let them check it again. Is there any direction I...

    Whine after regearing

I'm not sure what they did today. My original invoice has the master kits on it but today felt more like a repair. I was in the waiting room for about four hours. These guys build axles for a living, and he looked me right in the eyes, I gotta be honest I did not detect a lie. He said they...

    Whine after regearing

He said they did, but I didn't see anything. Are these gears trashed now if I try a different shop? I just don't know what to do. This is a very well known and reputable axle shop here with decades in business. I'm really having trouble with the idea that I got 2 identically bad setups and I...

Yup, front & rear master overhaul kits are on my invoice.

    Whine after regearing

Well, that did not go as planned. They pulled a new set of gears with a very different build date. Different tech did the install and the shop foreman verified everything every step of the way and it’s still whining. Slightly different, so I can tell they didn’t just have me sitting in the...

Thanks everyone! I'm sure they'll be dialed in on Monday. This is new territory for me which is why I picked ECGS instead of a local hero. I knew these guys were legit. Thanks for the crash course in re-gearing. This is like a Wayalife All-Star Thread!

Yeah the deals seem to be crazy so they can dump the leftover 23 inventory.

    Whine after regearing

Yeah they gave me the numbers from the frontend (PS-.050, PPL-15, BL-6 ?) but said since their scraping the backend there was no reason to (which makes me think the mistake would have been apparent). Here's a real question I just realized though; they gave me standard break-in instructions...

    Whine after regearing

Right on. They’re fitting me in first thing Monday and promised to have me out in a couple of hours. On a separate note he said my 4.10s were in perfect condition considering all the mud & sand wheeling with 20,000 road miles on 37s.

    Whine after regearing

Hey bud! Only when I’m on the gas. I’m I take my foot off and coast it goes away. He was confident it’s a bad set and said something I didn’t really understand about the the way the gears were cut and how they meshed. All that aside, I was stoked to see 8th gear and be getting 16mpg again! I’d...

    Whine after regearing

Hey y’all! Got spicer 4.88s installed in my Mojave yesterday. The shop is extremely well known and I paid a premium for their expertise. On pickup the tech came out and said the backend is whining at 50mph. He reviewed the setup twice and thinks it was just how that set was cut. It had a good...

    Hauk Offroad Skid Plates-Instructions Needed

You’d be fucked if you welded this on. Honestly it is a huge pain in the ass, but it is bulletproof. I did some dumbshit that caused an upper oil pan leak. Got the dealer to warranty 2 repairs, but after that I decided to ensure I’d never go through that again. When I bought the kit it was...
