Today I took the front axle back out since im gonna have to get the upper out to make the next one. In the process I realized the exhaust was in the perfect place to not get the bolt out. Thankfully only a few bolts to take that one section of the exhaust loose to get enough clearance. Im going...

    CJ5, is it worth stretching??

I have a YJ and its stretched close to 105" personally I think thats about he best wheel base all around. With the CJ5 being so small if I was going to keep leaf springs Id take the outside hangers and stick them as far as possible on the frame. What ever that ended up with Id go with it. Edit...

Today my dual fill Kit, heims, and ball joints showed up today. Before I started to make the arms I made sure the heims were the right side. I then started to figure out how long the arms were gonna be. I ended up actually going down to 26 5/8" because the 27 1/4" didnt leave me with much...

Since be working a lot on it the past few days didnt do a whole hell of a lot today. I tacked the track bar mount on the inside of the frame and moved the axle side out a bit. Not sure how I feel about that mount on the frame side like that. I may try and roll with it and just see what happens...

Today I got the other side strut all tacked into place. Tomorrow I plan to come up with a track bar so I can test it side to side. Im thinking I can either take the stock mount and just push it back a inch or two or if I have to go custom Im possibly going to mount it up on the inside of the...

I also forgot to mention yesterday that I picked up the 2" .250 wall DOM for the front LCA. Im most likely gonna make a tierod out of it and possibly a rear track bar. The place I got it they had the 10ft 7" piece so thats what I took. I believe im only going to need around 6.5ft or so for the LCAs.

There is where I ended today. Looks like bout the same as last night. I got a little bit more for the tower to go up and it should be pretty damn close to the other side. Once this side is tacked in ill be able to make a permanent track bar mount or possibly another temporary so I can cycle...

Today I cleared that extra room and got the driverside all tacked up. It looks like I got it all in there about as tight as possible. I wouldnt be surprised if aired down if the tire doesnt get into it right there when its in the perfect spot. One thing I learned from yesterday was that its...

Earlier I believe I finally got the full bump and full extension where I wanted. I know I could make full bump a bit further up but I figured here it will allow me more room so I could possibly go to a 42 or even maybe another 40 with fresh lugs down the road. I then started to do some math what...

Coming up to Speed With Grubbicon

A little update going back to yesterday. I picked up the my knuckles from being sandblasted and also put some paint on them. While I was doing that I started to mess with cycling the rear to figure out how far I wanted the rear to go up. I ending up getting close. I believe Im going to take a...

Went by Oreillys today and got calipers, pads, and inner and outer axle seals for the front. They had the pads but rest will be there tomorrow. After that I came home and took the front lower control arms out. Basically I decided Im going to tackle my own. So I then called Artec to make sure...

I finished up welding the truss all together today. I also welded the inside of the cast this time unlike the other. I then started to lay the jig out on the passenger side tack the lca mount on as well as the trackbar mount. Also for anyone that may be trying to follow along down the road...

Coming up to Speed With Grubbicon

Today I cleaned up the axle and the truss so I could get started welding on the front. I also had to make clearance for the breather like I did on the rear. Im honestly surprised Artec does already make them so they dont get into the truss. I then started to tacked the truss into place and...

Today I painted my diff covers. I ended up going with the matching red. I got a feeling its not gonna be all that strong and turn to shit fairly quick, but I guess Ill see. While I was going back and forth with the paint I did more trimming of the cast trying to get this truss to sit all the...

I took my knuckles to the people that usually do my powdercoating today because im lazy and Im going to let them sand blast them. I should be able to get them tomorrow or Wednesday. Since I have been slacking on working on the JK I decided to try and get back at it. I decided I was now going to...

Coming up to Speed With Grubbicon

Yesterday I put my track bar on temporarily. I ended up just tacking the factor mount back on the frame and the mount artec supplies for the axle in the kit. That should allow me to come up with the measurements I need on the driver side and then just replicate it for the passenger side. Then...
