Coming up to Speed With Grubbicon

Well nothing axle wise done today. A friend and I have been talking for awhile now about switching my factory nav for his factory radio. After I killed my aftermarket head unit I wanted to go to something more simple (at least in my head). Here is a few pictures of my original nav in his Jeep...

    Rubicon Front and Rear D44s

***SOLD*** Both the front and rear are out of my 2007 JKUR. They have around 70K miles on them. They both have 4.10s, factory e lockers, ARB diff covers, RK raised tracbar bracket, 1310 driveshaft yokes, and stock shafts. The rear shafts were replaced (with stockers) a few months back and one...

Not a whole hell of a lot done today, but I did get the plasma cutter back out and did some more cutting on the front. Figured I try to get as much off as possible instead of having to do a ton of grinding. On the driver side there is a bit im just not going to be able to do because of the...

Didnt do much today, but I did take both the rear hubs off so I can put new studs in. While they were off I also went ahead and cut the dust covers off. Once the shafts are pulled out there is a nut on the spindle and there is a special socket to get it off because it has 4 prongs. What I did...

Couple more pictures with the axle pushed up. Im definitely into the gas tank and it looks like the upper 3 link mount might be into the floor. Id like it to go as far up as I can so if I have to looks like I may end up cutting the cargo area and raising the floor. I wont know for sure though...

A little comparison of the ORI first the King shocks before it came off. Looks like both of the shafts on the shocks got a decent bend in them. I then moved to cutting the shock towers off and coil buckets. Looks like there is no turning back now. Not gonna lie its got me a bit nervous but I...

Coming up to Speed With Grubbicon

Figured Id update on some of the work done so far this morning since Im going to take a break for a bit. I started by taking the brake lines off and disconnecting the other wheel speed sensor. Then I pulled the track bar off and then the upper control arm. I then pulled the springs out and...

Got a tiny bit of work done tonight. Took the front drive shaft off as well as the hydro assist, drag link and tierod. I also pulled the brake line off the drive side caliper and took the wheels speed sensor loose.

    Atlanta Suds & Grubs (November)

Sorry I didnt make it. I was having too much fun watching drunk rednecks destroy their rigs and I seemed to be trying to kill the YJ in the process as well lol. Ended up seeing 4 rigs go over today im sure there was more.

1310 or switch to 1350 front driveshaft

Id go with a 1350 personally. This is a 1310 Tom Woods I had for awhile. It did hold up to a good bit of abuse though before it did go.

Coming up to Speed With Grubbicon

This morning before I had to take a break for awhile I finished with the 3link bracket. After I did that I hung it up in the jeep. To keep from singing down I put some straps on it. At some point im going to cut around a inch or a bit more off the bottom of the lower control arm mounts and...

Coming up to Speed With Grubbicon

Ended up fixing the lower control arm mounts earlier (a couple times lol maybe I was trying to get them too close). I then got the upper mount in place and tacked it up. After that I ended up fully welding the lower control arm mounts all the way on as well as welding the sides of the...

Coming up to Speed With Grubbicon

Been deer hunting the last couple of days so havent been working on the Jeep. I got back today around lunch time and decided to do some work. Ended up tacking the lower control arm mounts on where Artec suggest. I ended up managing to screw it up. I was completely confused on what I did then my...

Coming up to Speed With Grubbicon

Yesterday my dad helped me out and took my upper 3link mount to a friend of his that is a gun smith and has a machine shop in his basement to cut it down. Artec says due to the larger pumpkin it has to be cut down 1.24"s so we got that done. Today I actually start welding on the rear axle...

My first Rough country let down

If you are still running their drop bracket on the frame side I suggest you check it for cracking. Mine finally broke all the way through and also bent the front 2 shocks. After it broke you could see where it had cracked and the bare metal spots were rusty leading me to the conclusion that that...
