King pin front ends are still very popular with the offroad race crowd. That was a nice write up :thumb:

Well he could always do what Matti does, disguise himself to fit amongst all of us "sheep".......because we will never, ever figure it out.

    Winching 101

Mooch, that is a "Safety Thimble" by Viking (captain obvious here), but that is in no way to be confused with the Factor 55 piece. You can actually slip a 7/8 clevis or pin through that thimble. It is what I use, it's also what we use on EVO1 during the races. However, the big snap hook that...

I'm with you here too, everybody likes to add their own little touches to their vehicle. I'm just a believer that if it does not improve upon the function or performance of what it is you are "enhancing", it does not go on my rig.

No problems ;) I still think that even that "flat link" is just cool looking, but absolutely an overthought out piece of recovery kit and really unnecessary.

    Winching 101

You still will need a second clevis/D-ring to attach to recovery points. See ttfhell's post above again. I have been a part of several recoveries where a Factor 55 link was involved. It is a superfluous piece of kit and not needed, and not to be confused with a "safety thimble"

    Rollover video

You know we did not have a GoPro camera anywhere on or in the race car. Kind of wish we did, all I truly remember seeing from the co-driver seat was the approach to the rock ledge, I knew we had drifted too far left, I was thinking Mel's approach was a tad bit fast but nothing I could control...

    Torque wrench

Never, ever, ever purchase Craftsman, at least I will not anymore. There was a time where that was the gold standard for tools (especially warranties), but they no longer come even close to being decent. In fact that was my high school graduation present from my father back in 1984, Craftsman's...

NEW MEATS for MOBY : 40x13.50 Toyo Open Country M/T's & ATX Chamber Pro II's

Yeah, I'm kind of tired over the black wheel look, that's why I was super excited when you had gotton the machined finish for RubiCat. I know I said "it's the only modification I am doing" to the new tow rig, but I mean it. The truck came with 35"s, rear e-locker diff and gets about 19-21mpg...
