You mean one of these (factory receiver hitch) ? Absolutely strong enough for recovery hook. Make sure you get a good strong hook that has been rated for at least twice your gross vehicle weight. .

They don't use a gasket at Dynatrac. It's RTV or some kind of sealer. . Hit it with a dead blow a couple of times (with a bolt or two still loosely installed) or try the thin putty knife, just be careful with it. .
