WAYALIFE on the GO : Miscellaneous Photos from Cindy & Eddie!

Why the chains? Safety thirst.
Funny you should ask. When we bought it, I came with my tie-down straps but the dealership said that I should be using chain instead. And, I have to admit, I see quite a few tractors being towed and they all are tied down with chain so I didn't give it a second thought and bought some and binders as well.

I just meant strapping it in general. Was making a joke lol people around here tow tractors and skid steers and all kinds of crap and don’t tie it down lol

So, about once every 6 months or so, we totally loose our cable internet in Carson City and just like clockwork, it's been out again for the last few days. Needless to say, I called them out and when we got back, this is what we saw.

From what I was just told, there were multiple lines going to our house - something about how rather than just running new line, previous techs had just spliced in a fix or something. Anyway, this was causing a lot of noise in the line and that causes Spectrum to just shut it off. As in, turn off our service. Clearly, this has been going on for a while now and for the first time, someone finally figured it out.

Soooo, now they're running new temp line so that we have service again and then they're going to schedule a trencher to come out and do a proper fix. This after a dozen years or so of calling them out again and again

LOL - okay, just got done talking to Rick, the quality assurance guy at Spectrum and apparently, he said this shit should have been caught YEARS AGO. In fact, when he called in a second truck to help string up new line, the guy who came out said that he was just out here about 6 months ago to help trap noise (cut off our service). Essentially, it should have been fixed then

Funny you post this. Spectrum has been in town for 5 years and our street was one of the first to get the service. And exactly what you’re describing. Complete wipe out every few months with trucks bouncing off each other for days on end. Good for awhile then repeat. lol

WTF, you too?? You really need to get someone higher up on the ladder. I should have done this years ago. Hoping this FINALLY fixes the problem.

This is the temporary fix. Literally looks like an extension cord was laid across my gravel with a tire strip placed over it 🤪

In Dallas I have seen Spectrum use "extension" cords similar to this for several years at a time. In some cases the cord runs across a street with no added protection at all. It is a wonder that the service is even working.

AT&T is not much better. AT&T GPON fiber is much better technology, but they are almost impossible to deal with when something goes wrong.

Where did you get that cord protector? I need one for my house project. Will it fit a 1" thick cable?
I was serious.. but thought you did that.. sorry.. reading is hard. 😬

My ATT internet service went completely dead last year.. the tech came out and said “Get Spectrum, there’s nothing we can do”… So I did. Few weeks ago ATT ran Fiber in our area… then sent reps to my door asking me to sign back up.

ATT just completed fiber and has been door to door for the last 2 weeks.
Prices are no better than Spectrum for the same speeds and I noticed in some of the fine print; they throttle based on usage.

I am not sure that they actually throttle based on usage (although they could). That would indicate elevated intellectual abilities, which AT&T does not appear to have. But GPON (and cable) are by nature shared services, so bandwidth management is applied such that all on the same GPON port/splitter get their fair share.

Regardless, GPON is superior to cable--based service.
