Third time is a charm

Should be getting the Motech stuff in any day now and get this thing back on the road. I'm just trying to knock out all the little things while I wait.

Nicely done so far. Its gotta feel nice getting that engine in and checking some things off the list.

I don't think I've posted it in this thread but I got a set of EVO long arms for the jeep a couple weeks back. I got the pass. front corner on last weekend and last night I got the frame all cleaned up on the front driver.

The secondary reason for the long arms was to get rid of the factory front UCA mounts as they sit in the way of the exhaust on the V8 swaps.

Looking good! My long arm kit hopefully arrives tomorrow!
It's a little more work but if you cut at the weld on the front brackets instead of the marks in the directions it looks much cleaner. It adds some time but I couldn't stand seeing the remnants of the factory brackets under there.

I’ll be having a shop install it since I don’t know how to weld and it’s my daily driver, so it’s necessary to have it done in a timely manner.

Your missing out on a lot of swear word inventing situations but I get it.
Hahaha it sounds like a grand ole time! I thought about talking to my neighbor and having him assist, but I don’t get along that well with him 😂 might have something to do with me shooting his dogs with a BB gun for barking at my chickens.

Got the front long arms in Friday and then put the front suspension together yesterday morning.

In the afternoon we broke out the pipe cutter and started putting together an exhaust. Got the cat pipes mocked up and I'll have to get those welded out today.
Also dropped the rear suspension and put a puck lift in the back and some rancho 9000 shocks.
Electronics from MOTECH went out on Friday and yesterday the tracking was updated from Tuesday delivery to today so we'll see if that happens.

Hopefully I can get it put in and get the engine turned over by next weekend.

Didn't feel like getting all changed to work on the jeep yesterday so I did a small project and cut the factory hood vents.

As expected, the engine parts didn't come in yesterday but they are confirmed as delivered today. Now it's go time to try and get this thing up and running asap. We have a trip planned for the week before labor day and I need some test time before that.

lot of work, looks like you're making good progress considering too
I'd like to swap out the 3.8 in my 2010 JKU but I feel I'd spend more on tools, swear a lot and possibly leave it sitting for months as other things take precedence.
I can appreciate the time and work that goes into doing this, nice job. (y)

For anybody curious, here is the full LT harness from Motech.
PXL_20210810_010511737.jpg

Of that entire harness you need to splice in ten wires.
6 in the engine compartment that go to your Mopar computer

PXL_20210810_011718233.jpg

And four more that go behind the gauge cluster to make the tach and speedometer work

PXL_20210810_011637090.jpg

The rest of the connections are OEM plugs that simply need to be snapped together and most only fit one place.
On a side note, every wire or connector is labeled with where it goes or which wire it should be spliced into.

The progress looks nice, I am excited to see more photos of this build.
By the way, I recommend that you check out 4WheelOnline in case you want to add accessories to this jeep.

Got most of the wiring harness for the engine run and plugged in. I have a couple of grounds to bolt down and some wire to tie up but it's a good start.

I still have to sort out the wires running to the back so I didn't drop the intake on tonight but I should be able to do that tomorrow. After that it's on to the emissions and interior harnesses.
