What was done to your rig this week?

Time for steering upgrades! Replaced the stock tie rod & drag link with the Synergy components. I also replaced the stock warn fairlead with the Factor 55. The Warn fairlead was getting some really bad corrosion; the anodizing for the factor 55 components holds up well, so I have i hopes for...

How Long are You Willing to Wait for Jeep Parts?

It was right around what was quoted originally back in April; so I don’t have any complaints. I struck up a conversation with the shop who did my regear and they said they’re expecting 10(ish) months for current orders

Post-500 mile gear inspection. Also added an OME steering stabilizer to fix by busted OEM (flipped it too). Got tired of just looking at the King cardboard box so I installed the rear shocks today; fronts are still on backorder, should arrive Sept-Oct(ish)....

What was done to your rig this week?

Had the axle gear ratio changed from 4.10 to 4.88, so extremely happy with the results, I only wish I had done this much sooner. Had some diff covers added as well.

Where did your Jeep take You this Week?

Pardon the attempt at an artsy photo; but it shows the buckle & strap arrangement there by the rear wheel. There are two long straps with buckles at the two corners by the Jeep that you can attach to the wheel or rock slider. There are 3 short straps with buckles on the top of the tarp that you...

Where did your Jeep take You this Week?

Camping above the clouds in the Los Padres National Park south of Big Sur, CA. Tested out a new item: the Slumberjack Roadhouse awning. I really like the versatility of it, there are a few modifications I want to make, and a few additions. Overall it was a great buy, especially considering how...

What was done to your rig this week?

Good catch. You’re right, the measurement needs to be running fore-aft on the ball joints.

What was done to your rig this week?

So assuming the slope of the garage floor (0.6) is in the same direction fore/aft on your axle then the reading off your bump stop shows that you’re sitting at roughly 6.5deg castor which yields a -0.5deg pinion angle (Assuming x axis is 0). IIRC the recommended castor angle should be approx...
