NEW 2017 Jeep Compass Compact SUV - What do you Think of it?

I like the looks, will need to wait and see if it's useful off-road.. Mileage isn't much better than our Eco-Diesel which is good for 28mpg on a regular basis.. GC

Evo Coil Overs for LCG build?

Evo team..... looking at a LCG 2dr jk build.. Can you do Evo coil overs at +1" lift to 3" range? Would it be worth the cost of the coli overs in over all suspension compliance, and high speed handling (on and off road)? Thx!

Winch Question -how much cable is enough?

Good advice always.. but rule #.01 is "Be Prepared".... and this is a big country, if you want to see it all, there will be times that you wheel alone, or never go..

Winch Question -how much cable is enough?

Kansas City, MO area... here it is snooty mud, open country.. woods can be brushy to real trees.. I want to be ready to wheel here, CO, UT, etc.. so open desert, rocks, mountains.. Can you use snatch blocks with the extension rope (new to winching) to increase leverage? What do folks do in...

Winch Question -how much cable is enough?

Looking at winches, for over all wheeling (woods to desert), how much cable is enough? I've been looking at the Warn 9.0Rc for it's light weight (54lb), but it's only carrying 50' of line. Is the enough? Build will be LCG, light weight 2dr along the lines of a KOH everyman wheeler.. Thanks..

    Receiver Winch Mounts.. thoughts?

My thought was to keep the winch inside the jeep, and only mount as needed.. weight would be centered, and less theft prone bolted to the floor behind the seats.. I'm running a 2dr, no need for the back seat.. Will a receiver be able to pull the vehicle, hitch is only rated at 3500lb..

    Receiver Winch Mounts.. thoughts?

Looking at winches and winch mounts for a jk 2dr... I see where a winch can be mounted to a tow receiver (front and rear)... seems likes good way to be prepared either way ( front\rear).. What are the upside\ downsides to using a receiver winch, instead of a solid bumper mount? Thx!
