I was having this exact conversation with myself this weekeknd while I was going through the massive amount of tools I've managed to stash in the Heep. I've used the Hi-Lift jack at home several times pulling t-posts, stretching wire and moving stuff but never needed it otherwise.
I've safely removed / reinstalled my jack many times without issue but I can see for some it could be a problem holding something over their paint. Besides, the day I worry about the paint on my Heep hood will be the day I trade it for something nice.
I've seen some people say they got some wind noise but I have none. I have a 50' LED above the windshield though - I think that breaks the wind up so it doesn't whistle on the rack.
I understand completely, my friend. I bought mine recently and it's cost me over $4500 in updates and repairs already. Been in the shop for 3 of the 4 weeks I owned it.
Once it's fixed the love will return.
I pulled up to the car wash my wife uses on Friday, she was there getting her car detailed and I wanted to sit with her while it was being done. I guess the guy standing by the kiosk / barrier arm thought I wanted to go through the tunnel wash - the panic in his eyes was amusing.
Living in Walmart corporate territory, the number of California and Texas drivers here is astounding. I had always assumed that people from TX would know how to get from A to B quickly - Nope. 10MPH under - in the left lane. California drivers... not much needs to be said there.
Managed to smack it pretty good on the first trip out. In my defense, the front locker stuck closed and my stock steering setup took a dump so I was having to back up / left a lot to turn right.
