Say Farewell & Celebrate the Life of Lisa Wade

Just wanted to drop out of hiatus here to (again) offer my condolences. So long, rest peacefully, and thanks for being so kind to an underdog from Texas.

    Project "Thanos" Build

Moab / EJS 2019 Back from EJS and the Jeep performed quite well! No major issues or damage considering I was able to wheel some of the gnarly bits of places like Area BFE. Super stoked finally being in Moab with my own vehicle to wheel and it did not disappoint!

    2015 jk unlimited oil leak

Common failure is the oil filter/cooler housing around where you're seeing (mopar 68105583AE). Sadly it has a lot of plastic and tends to crack at the seams. Warranty should cover it.

1 Ton Swap - Part 5 - Exhaust and Rear Update This final post on the 1-ton journey will cover a couple remaining upgrades I performed "while I was at it" but aren't necessarily directly related to the 1-tons. First, I was tired of the old stock muffler setup and, as part of the next...

    Project "Thanos" Build

1 Ton Swap - Part 4 - Wheels & Tires One of the main reasons for going to the 1 ton swap was to support tires larger than the 37" Mud Grapplers I had been running. With my old setup being 5x5 beadlocks, now moving to 8x6.5, it was time to swap out my entire wheel/tire combo for something...

1 Ton Swap - Part 3 - Rear 14 Bolt Final Assembly and Install The first conversion that needed to be done was to send the rear hubs off to be machined down a slight bit in order to allow the 60 tooth tone rings from Artec to be pressed on. We found a local machine shop to do the work and they...

1 Ton Swap - Part 3 - Rear 14 Bolt Prep Happy New Year :) Continuing on the 1 ton swap, this next part will cover the rear in chronological order, even though again we worked on both axles off-and-on. As with the front, the first thing to do was to strip away all the brackets & hardware from...

1 Ton Swap - Part 2 - Front SD60, Final Assembly & Install With the axle set up it was finally time for some primer and paint! After a few coats and drying overnight at the shop, I picked up the axle first thing in the morning to bring it home. Joe He-Man'd it up into the truck by himself...

    Project "Thanos" Build

1 Ton Swap - Part 2 - Front SD60, "The Grind" The build plan for the front axle, based around the Ford Super Duty 60, was to use the Artec coversion/truss kit, paired with Reid high-steer knuckles, Curry Hubs, stuffed with 5.38 Yukon gears, and locked with an Eaton E-Locker. But first, we had...

1 Ton Swap - Part 1 - Out with the Old, In with the Old The journey to 1-Tons begins with the evolution of the current axles I was running beforehand. As my build is a true "build it in stages" progression rather than an all-at-once upgrade, some of the early economic decisions led me down a...

JL-EXPERIENCE : REUNION - PART 4 | Cinder Hills to the Grand Canyon

Great series - great cinematography as always, Cindy :) I love seeing the early stages of the new JL unfold - these are the pathfinder jeeps and manufacturers out there figuring out all the new quirks and limits on the new platform - cheers to y'all and continued R&D success.

    Project "Thanos" Build

Happy to announce the one-ton swap is finally complete. This past weekend we had a shakedown run and only had minor items to tweak! I’ll be making more in-depth posts about the swap itself, but there’s a LOT to it so it will take a minute. Till then here’s a raw gallery of photos over the...

    Project "Thanos" Build

Phase 5 Announcement I'm excited to announce the next evolution of Thanos is under-way! Getting Thanos built up to run 37s was a phased process over 3 years. Along the way, decisions were made that got me to where I wanted to be at the time (qualified for the JKX). With that dream realized...
