Running 35’s on a 2.5 inch lift jku recommendations DD

I think the biggest mods that I did for making things feel more stable/tight while driving were the dynatrac ball joints and the fox ATS steering stabilizer. I rarely drive too fast but my first trip out west where the speed limits are 80 had me pushing the jeep up there. I was really surprised...

    DeWalt 1/2" Impact

That actually is a valid concern. I was thinking you meant more of taking up space. The 899 is big. Rips lugs, control arm bolts, axle nuts etc off with ease. But you do have to get creative with extensions and those hinged swivel attachments to get in tight spots.

    DeWalt 1/2" Impact

I’ve got the more powerful one and it’s been great. If it’s just going to be in the jeep, the size difference shouldn’t be huge and they probably both come with the same size dewalt bag. I can’t think of a time where I’ve ever wanted less power in a power tool. Plenty of times with the opposite...

    Satellite GPS Messenger’s

I’m pretty sure Garmin bought out the Delorme inReach system. I bought a garmin inReach before driving cross country recently and it worked real well to send texts here and there. Just as beneficial as that I think is the tracking feature on it. You can preset how often you want the unit to plug...

    Colorado ruined me... pic heavy

Thanks again for all the comments. I think it’s pretty tough to take bad pics out there between the views in every direction and a jeep. I came back with just under 1,000 pics to go through. Most were unrelated to jeeping, but here’s a few more on topic- Last Dollar again- Getting caught in a...

    Colorado ruined me... pic heavy

I just got back from my first- definitely not last- trip to Colorado. UNBELIEVABLE. This was my first taste of the West and it did not disappoint in any way. I was solo for part of it and then my girlfriend flew in to meet me so there wasn’t any serious wheeling involved. The jeep did have to...

    Inner axle seal experimenting

My inner axle seal experience started when I pulled half of the seal out with my driver’s side axle during a ball joint install. You can read the back story here: Part ID, and how screwed am I? https://wayalife.com/showthread.php?t=54031 I ran to the dealer and bought the vin specific...

Part ID, and how screwed am I?

I was confused about this too. The electrical plug disconnects from the top of the diff like any other plug. Then inside the diff you’ll see the plunger part, which from what I read, needs to be kept open or pulled out during reassembly. You can see the plunger in the back of the pic. This is...

Part ID, and how screwed am I?

Figured I’d update- the seal change went smooth and the jeep is up and running. The ball joints feel great and are a noticeable improvement over stock. My factory ones weren’t totally shot but definitely getting loose. The jeep front end feels nice and tight now, and no diff fluid leaking...

Part ID, and how screwed am I?

My Jeep is my daily driver so couldn’t be laid up waiting for parts. In case anyone is wondering how bad the dealer will bend you over for the seals. I bought an extra just in case. Might just do both though Any suggestions on diff fluid and what to seal it up with? Luckily I have the next...

Part ID, and how screwed am I?

Installing dynatrac ball joints and had a hell of a time getting the drivers side axle shaft out. I needed to use a pry bar and definitely took some effort. This ring/seal came out with the shaft and not sure what it is? Looks mangled and want to know if I need it or need to replace it? Inner...
