New to the Jeep World as of this year! I had the opportunity to ride the Alpine Loop as a kid in the back seat of a rented TJ during a family trip to Silverton, CO and loved the idea of owning a 4x4 ever since. Having grown up in the flat lands of South Georgia, I remember sitting in the back of that TJ in awe of the beauty of those snow capped mountains, and the exhilarating feel of riding on those shelf roads. I left home, joining the Marine Corps in 2007, and shortly after arriving to Camp Lejeune, NC as a broke Private First Class, I purchased a first generation Ford Explorer 4x4 that eventually turned into an addictive project as I began modding it and taking it on runs through the Uwarrie National Forest with friends of mine who all drove TJs and XJs. I always said I would never get rid of that old Explorer and swore it would one day ride Blackbear Pass. I eventually bought a second vehicle to drive everyday, as the explorer slowly evolved into a marginally street legal ride, and continued to work on my old "stump jumper". Fast forward nearly a decade, and here I am with a wife and kids, needing one vehicle with four doors, working heat and A/C, and all the off-road ability my outdoor lifestyle demands, the only vehicle left in this world fitting that bill is the Wrangler JKU. It was hard letting go of the Stump Jumper and my truck to consolidate and buy a Jeep, but in retrospect it has been the best decision I've made in a while! I'm loving the Jeep, and afgter discovering Eddies awesome Youtube channel, the bug has bitten me! I am currently planning to attend my first Jeep Jamboree at Big Bear in May of 2017 and hoping to one day see you all at JKX!
