I have an app on my Ipad called "you need a map" works very well for a free app. I used it on my trip to moab and it worked flawlessly. Kind of a pain to import GPX tracks but once you figure it out....easy. It is a huge app because you get the whole western USA topo.
Just wondering now that I've upgraded to a new bumper that does not have provisions for the stock driving/fog lights, can I run a set of IPF driving lights off the stock JK foglight switch and circuit?
I use an app call "you need a map". It was free when I downloaded it and it works great. It is a huge app but it has all the offroad topo info. It is not a turn by turn GPS but it will tell you were you are when offline.
They are notorius power hogs. Probably kill the battery if left overnight in warm climates. That and they only cool so much(20-30 degrees) below the ambient temp so on hot say 90 out your stuff will be 60. I wouldn't rely on them for food storage over longer periods. I'd stick with Ice or Dry...
It would work for a little while but I kept getting a flashing red light. Even set the battery monitor cutoff to low and it would still shut off after an hour or so. Ever since I added the ARB fridge wiring loom directly to the battery I haven't had any issues. The wires to the stock 12volt plug...
Fit's just fine in the back of my 13. The stock power port back there isn't enough for powering the fridge. Run a dedicated fridge circut like the one ARB sells right to the battery. I wouldn't count on it being bear-proof as it's just a plastic lid and latch.
m38's
The little M416's and the Canadian 101's are getting pretty tough to find nowadays. Average price for one in good shape are about $800 and up.
As for pulling behind a TJ, I'd say you're fine. They were pulled behind the willy's M38's. Here's mine.
